Does anyone have any experience staying in this area and/or any hotels you could recommend? I find some packages that looked reasonable. There were several hotels to choose from and I was considering the Marriott or possibly Fairfield Gardens condos. Has anyone stayed at either of these places? Or anywhere else for that matter.:) Thanks!

hmmm...not one person has been to the Williamsburg area?

Williamsburg is only 90 minutes away for me...so I've never spent the night there.

There are several DISers who have...maybe they'll come out to offer some advice.

There is another thread about Williamsburg suite hotels on this page--you may want to check it. As to hotels, I've never stayed at the Fairfield Condos, not sure where they are. Our favorite hotel in Williamsburg is the Embassy Suites, located just off the main drag (Richmond Rd/Rte 60) so you don't have to deal with the traffic, but you aren't too far from the activity. There is a very reasonably priced Best Western--nothing fancy but clean. When we go, we have a tendency to stay for 1 week to take advantage of all the stuff--Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, outlet shopping and Busch Gardens, so the next time we go, I'm going to look in to renting a timeshare--we have stayed at Fairfield--not Patriots Point, but the other one--can't remember name--is it the gardens??

Oops. Thanks I found it. I actually tried to do a search before posting because I thought I had seen a similar post and i wouldn't let me. Thanks Bob O. for bumping.

Any other experiences?
