Kenny and I are going to Paris/DLRP on the way to our cruise to Dover/Barcelona. :cool1: (Travel writing assignment) We're probably gonna stay in the city and I was wondering what hotels might be good to see the city. I found one, Le Regent Montemarte which sounds excellent.

We stayed in this one on the left bank for my dh's 40th in May.

Hotel Residence Henri 4

Found it through Trip Advisor.

Beautiful rooms, full of character, only a few minutes walk from Notre Dame and the river. 2 metro stations nearby.

I did a review, including pics here

Checked around for best price - got it by booking directly on hotel's own website.

I went to paris exactly one year ago tomorrow and stayed here:

Can't recommend it enough!!

Wonderful hotel! :) Heres my TA report:

And also a photo of me and my mummy on our balconies (rooms were next to each other) :) You can see the opera house at the end of the street.

Oh congrats - it is a lovely place to stay.

It was my dh's 40th, so I rang and asked the hotel to arrange a bottle of champagne in the room for when we arrived and they were very obliging. There is a small fridge, sink and hob ring in each room - with a local market and supermarket nearby we bought breakfast and lunch things and ate them in our room, or in the little park across the road.

Enjoy :)

Thanks, I'm sure we will :)
I dont know if the OP is still checking the thread, but the times we have visited Paris (usually twice a year) we found you really get what you pay for. We have stayed at some dumps that looked good on the web. Le Regent Montemarte has some awful reviews on several travel sites.

Just by way of information, the Henri 4 have some superb offers. We got the Spring offer, and three nights with breakfast is only E448. The room is E133 per night, regular price E230 !

If anyone is interested I could put up a mini-review with photos when we get back.
