Hotels in DC

What are you planning to do while in DC? You can save quite a bit by staying outside of DC but on the subway line. We stayed at a hotel in Springfield, VA it had a shuttle to the subway line. Might be tricky with a one year old though.

a few questions on your DC trip...

* do you need to be in the city or will suburbs do?
* do you prefer a suite to a room (for a 5 mite stay with a baby - I'd go with suite!)
* what's your definition of expensive? DC is one of the priciest cities in the US for hotel rates, and often (depending on what's going on, there's not a room to be had in the entire area)

...you should be okay if you have over US$250/nite in mind for a budget...if this is the case I'd recommend Embassy Suites in the Georgetown area. It's a good value play for families as you get he free breakfast, evening drinks, Hilton Honors points, and a spacious suite.

$250 US/nite!!??? Holy cats! If your dates are fairly firm, and you aren't intimidated by Priceline, check these links:

Hotels available thru Priceline.

Recent winning Priceline bids.

You can do better than $250, IMHO.

Sign up for the Wyndham weekly newsletter. It's on their website. I once had a chance to book their hotel in downtown DC for under $100 a night. They send out different adds every week. It's free to join.

I book a room at the Marriott Suites Rosslyn in Arlington for 4 nights @ 104$/night with AAA.

Thanks!!
