Hotels in and around Gatwick Airport

Today I decided that it'd be better and probably easier if I were to stay the night before my flight from Gatwick on June 19th.

I've never stayed at a Gatwick hotel before, so were wondering if you guys could help me out.

Where have you stayed in the past?

Also, I have no idea if this is a big ask, but ideally, I'd rather not spend more than £60 for the one night's stay, but this isn't a strict limit. It's just what I'd prefer... :goodvibes

Also, is it possible to stay in hotels just outside of Gatwick Airport? If so, what are the names of these areas that the hotels are located in? And if you stay in one of these hotels, how would you get to the airport?

TIA :thumbsup2

We stay at the Premier Inn Gatwick South, located just outside the airport in Crawley. Its slightly over your £60 guideline however. A double room is costing us £70 plus 2 x premier breakfasts at £16, it all comes to £86.

There is a shuttle bus as well. When you want picking up from the airport (if doing Twilight Check In with VA) you just use the phone at the waiting area and they come and pick you up. You book which time you'd like to leave the following day, but they were more than willing to take us early when we asked on the morning. It took about 10-15 minutes to get to and from the airport. I think it was roughly £2-3 each way, per person

It was our first stay at the Premier Inn Gatwick South in September 2009 and we didn't even think twice about rebooking. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the hotel itself was very tidy, clean and quiet. We didn't see anyone else let alone hear them. The room itself was large, with a huge and comfy bed, modern and clean bathroom and good amenities.

The attached Gatwick Manor Pub also offers a great place for an evening meal or drink, and thats also where the Premier Inn breakfast is served. Again, the staff were very friendly and provided great service.

I think there is a Premier Inn actually at (or near enough) the airport, so that may be an option?

We've stayed at a couple of others - Holiday Inn and Skylane Hotel - but we're unlikely to head back to either

Thanks Kayleigh - so that's the Premier inn at Crawley. I'll take a look at that...:goodvibes

And the bus that you mentioned - is it just one run by the hotel?

The Hilton is definitely the best for location, just a short indoor walk into the terminal. They have a sale on til the end of this month, worth seeing if you can find a room within your budget. I personally use Gatwick Travelodge now, for budget reasons. It's basic, but does the job. I booked a family room for the night before our August trip this year, for NINE POUNDS! They have a bus that runs to the terminal every 20 mins or so.
Carl.

No problem :goodvibes And yep, its Premier Inn's own shuttle

I just checked out the Hilton, and there was a room available for £67. It's a good price.

And the Premier Inn Crawley is coming up at £51 for room only for me.

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

If the Hilton price includes breakfast too, I would go for it. It's all you can eat, and it's good, lol.

haha - scrap that. I just checked again, and it's over £100. I have no idea where I got "£67" from :rotfl:

Must've been dreaming...

EDIT - I've found it for £67 again! With £13 taxes, making it around £80 in total :)

I'm staying at Trumbles Guest House. It's costing me £55 for a single room with breakfast and transfers to and from the airport (I'm also paying £30 to park there). There are number of B&B's around the airport. If you search Trip Advisor for areas like Horley quite a few highly rated ones come up.

I'm glad to hear the Hilton to get good reviews. I was looking at that hotel today. I liked the fact the hotel was at airport. You can't get any closer.

Have yoU looked at yotel? It's located in the airport a standard room is about £50 a night. Stayed here twice and is fab!

The Yotel is inside the terminal and really fun. :)

If you can get it for under your £60 then go for it as you wake up 5 minutes from going through security!

We stayed at the Hilton the night before our last trip and thought that the location was just perfect

It's great to just be able to walk to the terminal in the morning and if you are flying with VA you can use the Twilight Check-In the night before as well :thumbsup2

Wow - How cool does the Yotel look?!? I'd never heard of it before, so thanks for the heads up.

I've just checked, and it'll cost me £61 - I think I'll go for that one then! :goodvibes I was going to go to the Crowne Plaza for £56 but then I would have to pay to use the shuttle to get back and forth to the airport. Yotel cuts all that hastle - I can just get the national express to Gatwick, and then straight to Yotel!

Thanks again :goodvibes

No problem they are awesome for the money you pay and the location - we strangely find that quite exciting haha!

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott which is close to the terminal and we walked to the airport - 5 minutes. It is by the long stay parking at south terminal. Great hotel and was built in 2009:thumbsup2

As part of the Hilton sale a double room with full breakfast is £80 ( you need to put in the code otherwise full price will be quoted). Here is alonk but not sure if it will work !

we have stayed here twice and think it is ideal because you can walk under cover directly to the terminal and if you do not want to eat at the hotel there is frankie and Bennys, a pub, coffee shops and also a M&S food outlet.

We have also had nice stays at Trumbles B&B for about £70 which includes breakfast and free transfers to the airport.

Hope this helps
