hotels being outsourced

Hi I listen to the podcast from last week and it was mentioned that disney is out sourcing the hotels. Can someone tell me which one and how has the hotel changed because of the outsourcing

I know valet parking has been outsourced, and I think house keeping is also out sourced... there have been conversations about the new Four Seasons hotel that is being built, being outsourced... but if I can interject some opinion... The Four Seasons deal is not outsourcing a hotel, but allowing a third party to operate a hotel on property not much different than the lake buena vista hotels. The Four Seasons is in a league that is as far above the Grand Floridian as the Grand Floridian is above Pop Century. The Four Seasons is not something Disney could do in house, so it is not as much outsourcing as allowing those that do it best to do it.

there are other services being outsourced at disney, that impact customer service that often draw rants... if you go back though some of the back episodes you can find that stuff, even easier to find with the index file.

I heard the word "outsourced" on another podcast, but I don't think they were referring to the Disney owned hotels. I believe the word was used to describe the selling of parcels of land recently to high-end hoteliers Waldorf-Astoria and the Four Seasons.

In that respect, they'll be the same "outsourced" hotels like the Swan and Dolphin are with the Starwood hotel group. Hope that helps.
