Hotels at St. Pete's Beach

Has anyone stayed at the Best Western Beachfront at St. Pete's Beach (it's featured in the Virgin brochure).

Would be grateful for any feedback.

If you do go to St Pete Beach we sometimes drive up to the Hurricane resturant. Its an old Florida beach resturant that has been there a long time.

Haven't stayed at that hotel, but did stay in the Howard Johnson on St. Pete Beach a few years ago.

It was a very nice hotel. Right on the beach with it's own pool and pool bar.

Sorry havent stayed at this hotel, but 2 yrs ago stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites which was via Virgin. Its a large white round building with a revolving roof top restaurant - amazing to dine and watch the sun go down. The hotel was right on the beach but the pool was rather small. The beach was beautiful but watch out for stingray. They suddenly appear in schools and you dont want to get stung by them. After seeing loads in the water we swam in the pool not the sea.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn last year (August) and it was really nice, pool at bit small as you say, but it's working out really expensive this year (April) and the Best Western is coming in much cheaper. So if we get any good feedback we might try the Best Western instead.

We just spent a week as the Scorpio Bayside apartments at St Pete Beach. If you are looking to spend over 5 days it may work out cheaper than a hotel. It's not on the beach but is a short walk (or drive) away. It looks out onto the intracoastal waterway - lots of pelicans and dolphins. It is managed by a British couple, there are only 7 apartments and a small pool. Highly recommended.

We also stayed at the Howard Johnson too last year!
A nice little hotel that one,right on the beach,with a nice pool etc..
