Hotels around Detroit Metro

Does anyone know of any nice, non-roach, cheap hotels close to Detroit Metro? My sister and I are going on leave on January 10th from Metro, but we actually live about 2 hours away. Our brother lives in the Detroit area, but its about 40 minutes from DTW. The only morning flight NWA has right now is 6:40 am and since we will be checking bags we will probably need to get there early, like around 4:40ish. That would mean we would have to get up at 3:30ish, which is just too early and depending on the weather might have to leave earlier than that. I know I can check other airlines, but I've been quite happy with NWA and plan to stick with them. I was thinking of getting a room closer to DTW for the night before so that we could sleep in just a bit longer then go to the airport and my brother could then go back to the room to sleep if he wanted before going to work later in the morning.

So, need some help or just advice.
