We are going to WDW, Universal, then Vero (beach cottage-yay!) in 2 weeks as my daughter's delayed senior trip. She is taking a friend and we will have our 2 and 4 year olds, too. For the night between Universal and Vero, my daughter would like to stay somewhere outside of the Orlando area. Does anyone know of a nice area ("cool" for the teens, yet "family friendly" for the little ones) where we could stay? I was thinking of Cocoa Beach, but am not sure if that fits the "family friendly" part and the hotels were over $100. Please help! Thanks

Why not just go on to Vero Beach? It's not that far. 90 minutes away??

I would agree. It's not that far to VB from WDW. There are plenty of hotels in the area where you could stay for one night, until you moved to Disney's VBR the next day. Then you could view the geenral area for restuarants, shopping etc.

We do the Orlando to Sebastian...Sebastian is not far from Vero... run fairly often as DSIL lives in a small town nearby, and there's not a lot between Orlando and Vero as far as sightseeing, touristy type things, for families or singles.

My daughter and her friend were asking me to find a place where we haven't been, yet. We go to Vero and WDW relatively often, so I'm looking for somewhere they might like to see. I mentioned Cocoa Beach and they thought it sounded like a fun place to try. I would have opted for Orlando or just outside because we probably could get pretty cheap rooms, but it's her senior trip, so we're trying to go with her wishes, for now. thanks for your ideas. -Kari

Try Ron Jon Cape Caribe at Cape Canaveral. It is a time share but they do rent. Teens love Ron Jon everything!
