Hi all,
I have just booked Comfort Suites Maingate East for 8 nights in May with Hotelmart USA at the great rate of $70. My question is this - it only takes a down payment of $120 and then you pay the rest of the balance on checkin plus taxes. What are these taxes? Does this meant the hotel will just charge whatever they like on top of this, and was I better off just booking a higher flat rate?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Most rates you pay are plus tax, same as any goods you buy are ticket price plus tax.
The last room I booked thru Hotelmart USA was incl tax and paid upfront total amount.
I am sure someone will know the exact rate but you will pay approx 12% on top of the rate quoted, this rate is set by the state.
You may also have a resort fee ontop usually around $3-5 per night to cover safe, coffee facilities, newspaper etc. but this varies with every hotel. You willl need to check maybe look on Comfort Suites website? Again last time I used Hotelmart USA this was incl in the rate I paid.

Osceola county is 13% for taxes. I am not sure if they have any fees on top of that but you may want to give them a call and see what they tell you. I am sure that they can give you a better idea of the final payment amount.
