Going mid/end of July and just need a clean place to sleep, cool off by pool, breakfast would be nice but not necessary. Wanted 65-75 a night. I know that's asking a lot in that area and the tripadvisor reviews are freaking me out. Can anyone recommend something...even if not PERFECT.
We don't have to be within walking distance either. I don't mind driving a bit and using the parking lot.

I really like the Red Lion @ Harbor & Katella. The rates are reasonable, but it is next to the Toy Story lot and a lot of people find this to be too far away from the parks for their liking. DH and I have no problem with the walk, but if you have little ones, you might. Just a thought. We've stayed there three times and we'll stay there again in February.

Try Motel 6 Main Gate, I stayed there last year and Im staying there again this year. Thats around your budget. It has a pool no breakfast and you take the ART shuttle to / from the park, alot cheaper than parking at Disney :)

Definitely try the closeby Motel 6.

And yes it's asking a lot to get that price in the middle of summer! (if you were going to Phoenix/Scottsdale, you could get that price, no problem, and even less, in July...but Disneyland is going to be harder)

Planning in June for a July trip definitely doesn't help either. But at a time when even the discovery inn and super8 is listing $100+ rates, I think you're going to have to raise your expectations to $150+ a night unless you want to sleep with bedbugs or drive from a few miles out. I'm assuming you are using a site like hotels.com and playing around with dates to look for prices. Many hotels have a price calendar on their own websites that makes it easier to see which days of the month are the cheapest.
