Ha!! I'm in that dreaded hotel decision making stage!! Places I have stayed:

Remember the Penny Sleeper Inn!
Marriott (by the Hilton)... Wonderful beds, expensive restaurant, wanted to be closer.
Candy Cane Inn.. perfect shuttle. Want to be closer to restaurants and maybe Downtown Disney?
1 night at the Grand Californian, ok but not as great as i thought it would be.

I'm now thinking maybe i'll stay at the Fairfield but the Disney's are calling my name. appox $222 a night so tempted.

Is there any chance of calling them and getting better rates or are these set in stone?

Thanks

Never hurts to try, you never know what they may offer you.

We booked Tropicana Inn & Suites last week for $99 a night. It's right across the street. But that's w/government discount. W/o they offered us $110 a night. Might want to call them to see if they still have rooms available.

HA! I remember the Penny Sleeper Inn. That was the first place we ever stayed on our first visit to Disneyland. I was a wee 8 years old, and I LOVED it!!
Personally, I will always stay at either the Grand Californian (love the grand lobby and exclusive entrance) or Candy Cane Inn (great hotel for a great price). I've heard a lot of good things about the HOJO across the street from the entrance as well.
