Hotel Toiletries?

Pete talked about his collection of hotel toiletries on the Universal Podcast this week. I was wondering, does anyone else do the same thing?

I only take ones that I like. And, unlike Pete (but much like Ross from Friends), I will take them from the cart if I find it unattended in the hallway! However, I don't take a lot. I loved the lotion at our hotel this weekend and took three.

-raising hand- Yes, I'll admit it. I'm a hotel toiletry hoarder. :rotfl:

So am I! I always take them. I do use them occasionally, when I travel and such. But mostly they take up space in my bathroom cupboard.

The only soap we use at home is Mickey soap obsessively "collected" during all our stays!

Yep we tend to take them home too, but they're pretty much all just in a cupboard!!

The only ones we've taken home and actually used were the H20 stuff from DCL, and the Molten Brown stuff we got in the New York Palace :)

:goodvibes

I'm a toiletry collector. I always have a little stash saved for traveling where I collect even more. Sometimes I'll use the soaps at home if I'm having Disneyitis. I like to put them in the guest bathroom and I give them to a womens shelter when the closet is overflowing.

I usually only take what's in the room, and even then it's only certain things. Never really occurs to me to ask for extra. There was a body wash from the Ritz in Cancun that I took home, used up, and have spent 5 years trying to find for purchase to no avail ... but the vast majority of the little bottles just sit in my cabinet until I throw them out. Though, I do use the H20 Mickey soaps at home when I remember to bring them home with me.

I love to do this too! I tend to only take the nice stuff, like the H2O products from the deluxe resorts. I have a little shoe box under my sink that I keep them in. Sad thing is I don't even use them when I'm in the hotel because I almost always bring my stuff from home. I like to leave them out for guests and I use the Mickey bar soap in my bath for decoration. I laughed at Pete's comments cause I do it too!

Of course I take them home with me. The reason they offer them in the small bottlers is for you to take. If the hotels wanted, they could use a larger dispenser type device, like some hotels are starting to use.

I especially love the Disney Cruise Line toiletries. Their shampoo is great.

We always ask for extras..The H2O lotion is great. They also have mouth wash, tooth brushes, and things like that. The mousekeepers don't hesitate to leave the things that we ask for. We leave extra mousekeeping tips too. Maybe this helps. We stay at POR and the mousekeepers are great and over the top for service. We always use the stuff we take home. I think I am down to the last few bottles of the H2O lotion. Do I feel bad for asking for this stuff? No, it's one of the perks for staying on Disney property. Disney is out nothing for leaving extras because it makes their guests feel special.
Happy travels to all with their upcoming vacations. Watch out WDW we are coming home....

Well......I do take the soap and shampoo's but figure...I paid for it with the room. Unless it is something I REALLY like will I take/ask from housekeeping.

I've started taking them but for a good cause. My mom collects them for a local homeless shelter. They desperately need individual sized toiletries for their showers. Not to sound preachy (sorry!) but if you have a huge collection at home, this is a good cause! The local homeless shelters often need this type of thing!!!

I travel a fair bit for work and haven't bought shampoo or conditioner in years as I always take what they give me. Mind you, my hair is so short at the moment that I'm not using much either (shaved it off in May for a charity fundraising event).

I figure the money I save on these products can go towards my next Disney fix. :rotfl:

My name is Michelle and I too am a hotel toiletry hoarder. Do we need an intervention??

I'll echo DrMomof3 - I have a selection that I've kept but the grand majority I donate to our local homeless shelter. They are the perfect size for several washes and save so much money for the shelter and the end users. I also include a box of ziploc baggies so that the leftover amount can just be slid in one to save for the next cleanup.

I only ask for extra if I really, really like the products. My favorites are the Bath and Body Works products at the Marriott hotels, and the stuff at the Portofino Bay at Universal... The product name slips my mind right now, LOL.

I must admit that I am a toiletries hoarder. I often tip well so the housekeeper will place extras in the room.

Oh, most definitely...

I love the H20 Products from Disney, the Crabtree & Evelyn stuff from Hyatt's...

But the best of all are the ones from the "Noble House" hotels. (I've only stayed at the Ocean Key in Key West...)

But, the 'cocomango' products are SO high quality and smell SO amazing that I actually started buying them online. If I could send "smell-o-vision" into your computer, many of you would do the same thing...

Last year while staying at the Poly (hard to tell by the bed spread) the mousekeeper was doing such a nice job, one day I decided to leave her a little more than I was, I also left a note requesting fresh supplies. When I came back to the room this is what I found. I arranged the Mickey.....
