Hotel Toiletries?

I don't usually BUT.... when I went to the James in Chicago they used Kiehl's products, which were AWESOME. I loved the bar soap. They did twice daily maid service, and so each morning I would hide the products in my bag to get a fresh stash. and then we were moved to a suite, which had two bathrooms, so we got twice the amount that day! I came home with an obscene amount of product!

I always take them for the first couple days, I love having them in my travel bag when I travel to other locations. That said, I mostly only take them from disney, because I enjoy having the Disney stuff with me on the road.

I hoarded until it got out of control. I have plastic containers (BIG ones!) full of greasy hotel lotion and shampoo I don't even like.

Sometimes I raid the stash when I have no shampoo (any port in a storm), but I finally quit.

And I don't like the new ones as much as the old "Everybody neat and pretty?" ones, anyway.

Yes I hoard them as well!
I bring them home and have a basket in the bathroom that I put them in.
Then if the boys need something they can take from the basket.
My little one he is 7, he will use a whole shampoo bottle in the shower and does not wash his hair. He likes to make bubbles, and when asked he did say well my body gets clean mom. :rotfl::rotfl:
It is also great if you have an unexpected guest stay over....
What is in the basket....
Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss.:lmao:
I am now on the hunt for the right basket so I can install these things at the cottage! :lmao::lmao::lmao:
John thinks I am nuts, but what does he know...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
His friends love it! :lmao::lmao:

I always take the unopened products. By most state Health Department Regulations - Hotels are required to dispose of the products left in the room open or unopened (this is frustrating at times when staying multi-days and the Housekeeper disposes of this daily). I learned this when I did a weekend of housekeeping at a Conference Center Resort I worked at in North Carolina, one summer while I was in College.

I don't usually ask for more, as if my stay is for many days, I generally get plenty. I too, have a very large collection of Disney Products at home.

I'm always amused by how many of our hoarded toiletries are from WDW hotels! :3dglasses

Yes, I take the toiletries that are in the room. But I never, ever thought to ask for more!

It seems odd to take little bottles of shampoo thinking that I will use them when travelling. Most of the places where I stay provide shampoo that is good enough to use.

I gave unwrapped Mickey head soaps to friends. I thought it was a cute present. They thought it was odd. And three years later, I saw the soap still in a friend's bathroom!

just last night I shampoo'd & conditioned with my H2O from last years trip...:rotfl:

and I have another large zip lock bag full of them from this year's trip when those run out!!

I didnt take extra's on the carts though - but we did leave mousekeeping tips each day and we were rewarded nicely!! :cool1:

DH hoards toiletries too. We were in transit when the new rules limiting the volume of liquids one can pack in a carry-on came into effect. There I was, madly tossing out DH's excess of carefully hoarded toiletries! Poor guy!
