Can anyone suggest a NICE hotel to stay at the Friday night before the cruise leaves? As in the past, the first traveling day is always so tiring....so looking to relax the night beore....Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a shuttle from the hotel to the ship, its about 10 minutes and free. You can usually leave your car at the hotel free as well. As for an airport shuttle, I think the DCL transfers, Mears, or a limo are your best bets. On the other hand you could rent a car from Avis and drop it at the Radisson (Avis is located at the hotel) and pick up another car to get back to the airport. This might be cheaper if theres a bunch of you.
Another option is to stay near the airport (about 50 miles from the port) and arrange for transportation on the morning of the cruise. We stay at the Hyatt at MCO, it is right in the terminal and very convenient. We then take the DCL transfers from the airport to port on the morning of the cruise. You check in for the bus in the lobby of the Hyatt, and they will collect your luggage from outside your room and deliver it to the ship. The Hyatt usally costs $99-$129 per night, and the DCL bus transfers are $46/per person, round trip.
You could book a less expensive hotel near the aiport, but off-site. Most have free shuttle service to and from the airport. In addition to the buses, there are a few towncar/limo services which you could book for transport to the ship.
