Does anyone know of a hotel that sleeps 8? The distance to DL isn't really that important since we will be driving down from Nothern Ca, and can use our own car. We would need the hotel to have a pool and would enjoy either kids eat free or free breakfast for everyone. Right now we are looking at Embassy Suites North and getting two rooms, but would prefer for all of us to be in one room. Any information would be great. :woohoo:

The Residence Inn Maingate does have some two bedroom suites, but I don't know if they can sleep 8 or not. You can view the floorplans at: http://www.anaheimri.com/html/floorplans.html. They do have a FANTASTIC free breakfast buffet, plus full kitchens in the units. We stayed there last year, and only had to eat out once per day. Their pool is good- not exciting, but much better than many I've seen in Anaheim.

Desert Inn and Suites has a Family suite with two rooms, two baths and an extra sitting room and it's reasonably priced.

The bonus is that it's right across the street from DL so even though you do have your own car you don't have to deal with shuttles or pay for DL parking.

I agree, we have stayed there many times. It works for the six of us. Go to their website and try to book a room. Then call them with your needs.

We've stayed at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel several times and have always been happy with the cleanliness and service. They have family suites that sleep eight. Basically, it's two connecting rooms with two queen beds in each room. Each room has a refrigerator and coffeemaker and one of the rooms has a microwave. Most of the rooms have the sink area separate from the rest of the bathroom. There's usually double sinks on a long counter providing a lot of counter space. It was nice having two bathrooms.

There's a huge pool area, an arcade, laundry room and a gift shop with some groceries. There is an onsite restaurant and the website says kids under 9 eat free with a paying adult. We've never eaten there so I can't vouch for restaurant.

It's also not a bad walk to the park. I think it's directly across from the Tower of Terror on Harbor.

This is our goto choice if Hojo's is booked or too expensive.

I will check out the two hotels you all mentioned. Hopefully one of them will be able to fill our needs. Thanks again :thumbsup2

8 will be tough, but in their 2 double bed suites, there is enough to comfortably sleep 6. We have stayed there with my family of 5 many times. It is a nice place, you get a free breakfast, and the rooms are very large. Assuming you have small kids, you could probably squeeze 3 into the beds.

You do have to take the Anaheim Regional Transportation shuttle to the parks, but that has not been that big of a deal for us. We are out there again in 10 days!!!!

Good luck!

Another one on the moderate side is the Best Western Raffles. They have two-room/family suites that hold 8.

I'm going to second the recommendation for the Desert Inn and Suites. They have two-room suites that can very comfortable accomodate eight people, and the best part is the two bathrooms.

The location of this place is great (it's probably a five minute walk from hotel to park turnstiles), it's clean, comfortable and very roomy. We've stayed here many times and would definitely recommend it.

What was the average $ weekday or weekend per night for your visits, including number of occupants? Are there promotion codes or email that you recieved to get better rates. AAA? AP holder? etc.

Any other suites (4 people) nearby that anyone else would recommend and rates, including time of year they stayed.

Thanks!

I did have a question. I understand that the walk for most would be very easy, but I have Fibromyalgia and need to save any energy I can, so do you know if they offer a free shuttle? I saw they have a DL fireworks viewing deck is this a ncie place and can you really see the fireworks? thanks for your help.

The shuttle would only be able to take you about 200 yards. Seriously, it's directly across the crosswalk from where the shuttles drop off. You can't get much closer than that. But to answer your question, the DI doesn't even offer the ART shuttle since it's so close.

Here's a map that may help you see the proximity of the DI.

Thank you for your post, I went to their web site, and the price is really good, but is it true that you have to pay for parking? Do you know if they offer shuttle service to DL, and they have REALLY decent prices on the lunch/dinner menu, but do you know if they offer room service? Thanks for your help. Have a great Tuesday.

We paid 139/night mid August for 6 nights, one night was 189.00. There are six of us 14-62. We joined there VIP club and used AAA rates. We watched the rates constantly and made ressie's when they came down.(Made initial ressies just to make sure we had a room and then cancelled after the second ressie.
They have a great hot breakfast and free grocery shopping, just to name a few amenities.

We stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites were there Jan 25 - 31. Although it is one of the closest hotels, there is no way I could have walked it. I rented an off-site ECV Scooter. Desert Inn allows scooters to stay in their lobby for overnight charging. I found that the scooter made it so much more fun to be at DL. I didn't hurt!! I had the most fun in years! It was well worth it! Maybe it is something to think about?
