hotel suggetions for daytona 500

Just looking for any suggetions for hotel or an area close to daytona beach. Daytona itself is out since most places are jacked up prices during that week. We're willing to just stay around downtown disney or some other city between orlando and daytona...

any suggestions??

DeLand has quite a few motels, and is a 20 minute drive from the track (well, at least on non-race days). They might jack up the rates as well, tho, but probably not as much as Daytona.

Keep in mind, Downtown Disney is almost an hour away from the track even without traffic. You might want to be closer in.

We are going to homestead in Florida and staying in Ft Lauderdale. While it is not close, an hour and 20 minutes with no traffic, it is definitely closer than where we are in Ohio. If you are okay with the drive, you will probably get the best prices in Orlando.

There is a nice Embassy Suites in Altamonte Springs, as well as a Marriott in the Lake Mary area. Both have very easy access to I-4 for the commute....

We've been going to the Daytona 500 for about 5 years and always stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Sanford. It is right off of I-4 and about a 25 minute drive to the track. It's a nice area and there are several hotels in the area as well as many restaurants, walmart, target, etc.
