hotel royal plaza quesiton

couple of college folks here booked a 5 day stay at the royal plaza. from our research it seems to be in the disney resort area. what do you guys think of this choice? any info at alll would be great. thanks all

We stayed at this Hotel before the renovation and found it beautiful and comfortable at that time. We had a executive tower room? and I loved the extra space. From the web site pictures the layouts look very much the same as when we were there.
If it weren't for the fact that you have to go outside to smoke (we have to get a non smoking room for me ) we would probably go back there again this year.
It's walking distance to downtown...about 10 mins and the bus system is pretty good. Although if it were me I'd take the bus in the am and unless I was exhausted I'd catch a disney bus back to DTD in the pm. Less waiting around in a parking lot.

It's a great hotel, close to Downtown Disney, which should appeal to college folks. The hotel was renovated last year, and the rooms are nearly new, with comfy beds, and really nice decor. The higher end rooms all have jacuzzi tubs and seperate showers. I've never stayed in the standard rooms, but they look fine, just a little smaller.

There's a nice pool area, bar, restaurant, and bus service to the parks. We really like it there, and it's a really good value for the price compared to the more "magical" resorts. I'd say this hotel was a little more "grown up" than the value, moderate, deluxe resorts. Kids are welcome, but not nearly as abundant as with the other resorts. Not much Disney "magic" going on, but you'll get plenty of that at the parks, so it shouldn't be a problem.
