Hotel room pillows

I was just going to mention that. We've been staying at the a HI Express for every show in my daughter's theatre ticket package, and the pillows are second only to location as far as why we are sticking to the same hotel every time. Sleeping anywhere is one of my superpowers, but I do still appreciate a comfortable pillow when we're away and their setup is one of the better ones I've encountered.

Yes!! Plus they never give you enough especially when you have 4 people in the room. At home I use 3 pillows plus a body pillow. I have my memory foam contoured pillow, side pillow, between the knees pillow.
This pillow discussion reminds me of this video.

I never gave them much thought. I never have had a problem with them. Usually when staying at a hotel, I am so tired that I could sleep through anything.

We don't travel by plane, the road trip is part of the adventure.

We always had 8 pillows taken with us, 2 for each. Those packing bags that you roll the air out of are fantastic for pillows. Kids would each have one with them and the other 6 would compress into 2 bags and take up less room than a single pillow.

Just got back from a road trip with 9 hotels over 14 nights.
The worst was a gorgeous bed and breakfast who put 4 body pillows on the king bed.
They sure looked pretty but gave me a horrible neck ache!
At least throw in a few normal sized pillows!

I agree. Even before I get to the room, I ask the front desk to send up four more pillows in anticipation for not liking their pillows! 🤣♥️

Anyone else HATE hotel room pillows? Every one I've used has been so "fluffy" that when you put any weight on it, it basically collapses to nothing. My home pillows are some type of memory foam and fairly stiff. Yes, I know I can bring a pillow from home, but that's one more thing to carry and remember to bring home or a hassle on a flight.

Maybe I'm just old and cranky. And get off my lawn!

Carry on.
I find that hotel pillows suck as well but apparently for the completely opposite reason. They tend to be stiff and not soft enough for my liking.

It seems like in the past one or more hotel chains offered up pillow menus. I think that is the only way they have any hope of making the majority of people happy.

When I stop and think about how many people have drooled on and done who knows what else to hotel pillows it grosses me out, but not enough to remember to pack my own pillow for trips.

I stick two of them under my head to get the height I like when I'm home, and I hug a third because that's what I also do at home. Never had a problem with hotel pillows.

Now, mattresses. Oy. I sleep on a memory foam mattress topper, and hotel mattresses are very stiff in comparison.

What about what happens on the sheets?

I would hope the pillow cases get washed.

Interesting, my mattress is like one step above sleeping on the floor. I find hotel mattresses extremely saggy and soft. No support.

I use a memory foam contour pillow at home, so no hotel pillow ever feels right. Usually one pillow is too thin, but if I stack two it's too thick.

We drive our hotel wherever we go so pillows aren't an issue. We have our own.

DH travels for work and I sometimes go with him so we've been staying in a lot of hotels lately. I actually LOVE hotel pillows. Our pillows at home are terrible. LoL

Ours still hasn't brought breakfast back... but the fact that they label their firm/soft pillows, a short walk through a lovely park to/from the theatre, and a very nice hot tub have completely won me over even without it.

Last one we stayed at was in December in Los Angeles County had breakfast, but they served you. And the menu was limited. Breakfast sandwich with egg, biscuits and gravy and cinnamon rolls. No scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs or egg white omelets like they usually have.
