We are going to arrive in Orlando the night before our cruise. We don't cruise until September 20th but I am quickly learning that you can't plan soon enough. Can someone recommend a hotel within close proximity that isn't too expensive? We would like to have a restaurant in it or walking distance so that we don't need to rent a car. Thanks !

alot of people make the trip down to the port , the day before
and stay at the Radisson , since i do not know if u have purchased DCL transfers or not ? and how many people it will be
it is hard to respond to this post .....
if u make the trip to the port and stay at the rad. they provide a free shuttle to the ship ... and one way of getting down there is to rent a car one way and avis has a drop off at the Radisson ...
it is an easy drive fro the airport.....
they have a restaurant at the hotel and a fast food place across the street........ peter

We stayed last trip at Amerisuites northwest. It was a good size room with a seperate sitting/dining kitchen area, a reading area and then two queen beds. There were several restaurants within walking distance (we choose TGIFridays) and a great breakfast buffet that is free in the morning-included belgium waffles. I would stay there again! Got a great rate on hotwire.

My pick would be the Hyatt in the airport.
My DH and I were on the 12/14 cruise and we stayed at the Hyatt the 13th. I believe the rate was around 99.00 for the night. The reason that hotel it worth the money to me is the convienience. If you have purchased your transfers with Disney all you have to do is put your luggage outside your room by 8am and they will take it directly to the ship for you. We got on DCL busses at the back of the hotel and I'd say we were at the port by 11am or so.
Very easy and stree free!
Just my 2 cents for you.... :)

We like to book MCO area hotels via Priceline. We usually pay around $28 and have ben everywhere from the Renissance to the Marriott to the two La Quintas. The only one we've hated is the Daetwyler Drive LaQuinta (NOT the one with suites), but you can avoid that one by bidding for two and a half stars. All but that LaQuinta are within walking distance of restaurants (well actually, the Motel Hell has a McDonald's near by, but it was literally the worst one I've ever been to in my life). Alternately, you can often get the Amerisuites via Hotwire for around $33. They don't tell you which hotel you are getting, but the "suite" indication and amenities are a giveaway.

Here's another vote for the airport Hyatt. I agree with luv2tvl that it's worth the convenience of not having to leave the airport, deal with a rental car/hotel shuttles, etc. Another plus is the numerous fast food breakfast options available at the airport food court; we picked up bagels, coffee, juice, milk, and cinnamon rolls for a relaxing light breakfast in our room before taking Disney transportation to the curise...

Here's a third vote for the Airport Hyatt!! If you purchased the DCL transfers, it's a great and convenient way to go. We, too have paid around $99 both times we stayed there. It's so easy . . . get off the plane, grab your luggage, walk 20 yards to the hotel (without going outside), check in, go to your room, get settled, go downstairs and have dinner (in one of several restaurants), get some sleep, leave your luggage outside your room by 8AM the next morning and forget about it, go have breakfast (in one of several restaurants), meet in the lobby of the hotel at about 9:30 AM, get on the bus at about 10:00 AM, and be at the port at about 11:00 AM. Everyone's rested and happy and ready for a great cruise!!
