We may go to Cocoa Beach for 2 days before our next trip. Can anyone recommend a beachfront hotel? Thanks in advance!

We stayed at the Courtyard in Cocoa Beach last May because we used Marriott rewards points, it was about a 3 minute walk to the beach. There was a walkway directly to the beach, didn't have to cross any streets, just a parking lot. The hotel was nice, clean, newer. We weren't that happy with the front desk staff, but we didn't have to deal with them much so it was fine.

We stayed at Ron Jon's the night before our cruise, we liked it so much we ended up purchasing a time share there.

HI- we stayed at Quality Suites (cocoa beach)in June 2004. Had a great 2 room suite, k bed in br, TV in br and lr, double sofa bed in lr, kitchenette (microwave, undercounter fridge, sink), good shower and bathroom space. Our room had ocean view and was great, rooms across the hall had A1A view (think Waffle HOuse, KFC, etc). Overall clean facility, reasonable continental b'fast. Drawback having no pool but shared pool/spa privileges at Radisson at the Port, which looked quite ooh-la-la (we didn't use it, went ot the beach!)! Three minute walk to the beach, and that's with a pokey 10year old! AAA price in late June 2004 $80/nite. Have to say, it's hard to believe that it's the same ocean down there that we have up here!!!

Last time we were there, we stayed at the Days Inn Oceanfront, it was really nice and inexpensive. Oceanfront rooms and we saw a night time space shuttle launch from our balcony - very fun!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront a few years ago. At the time, we thought it was very nice. They had a restaurant on the property, which we ate breakfast at each morning. It's very close to the pier. I'm not sure how it is now, but maybe someone has been recently. I forgot to add that they also have a viewing area to watch the shuttle launch from, if your lucky enough to be there during a launch. Have a great trip. :)

My co-worker also recommended the Ron Jon Hotel, which I believe is some type of time-share, but I think rooms are available per night also. If you haven't been to Cocoa Beach before it is quite a departure from Disney world in terms of cleanliness and restaurant selection. We like to visit there so the kids can play on the beach, but we only make it a day trip. The area doesn't really appeal to me overall, allthough I love the Ron Jon surf shop.

jonemick,
I totally agree! IMHO, the west coast of Florida is much nicer. Not only a nicer beach, and cleaner water, but nicer hotels and restaurants. Of course, I'm a little partial. :p If you want a deluxe quality hotel, drive down to St. Pete Beach, and stay at the Don Cesar. Not only can you take advantage of everything the St. Pete./ Clearwater area has to offer, but you're not far from Tampa, and a wealth of fine dining and entertainment. Whatever you decide, have a great trip. :sunny:

We have stayed on both coasts many times. I prefer the Space Coast because we can go to the Canaveral National Seashore, which is great, and there is more surf for playing. The Canaveral National Seashore is beautiful, clean and deserted.

We stayed on St. Pete Beach in 1999 and had difficulty finding anywhere cool and unique to eat. We were staying cheaply in those days and stayed at the Thunderbird Inn. For $50, it was great (our financial status has changed since then.). We found that from Daytona to Cocoa Beach there are lots of unique places to eat like Greek-American owned diners, JB's Fish Camp near New Smyrna Beach, etc. We looked at the Don Cesar in St. Pete while we were there and it was nice.

Also, we are driving from the Beach to Disney early Monday morning and staying in Tampa would require crossing Tampa at rush hour. Ive done that before.

We checked the Ron Jon but it was $300 per night. We decided on the Melbourne Radisson Oceanfront Suites for $150. Thanks to everyone that weighed in.
