I am kind of bummed that we will no longer be “owning“ anymore. Are they closing cost now cheaper since there is no more deed anymore? Also, are the trust a fixed 50 year time length?

You do not own now, there is no difference between RTU and what we have other than in name. They still have "deeds" for the cabins. The deeds we have are just for tracking ownership of the points they are not of any value.

Very wise. Anyone interested in the CFW should strongly consider a favorite week. Even if the is no shenanigans with the Trust, I think it's not impossible that the cabins might have different seasons reallocations than other resorts. Halloween and Christmas are so popular at the fort, that 10 years from now I think there's a good chance that those weeks get increased.

Yes. I bought favorite week #50, which is the week before Christmas, because it's a favorite for us (and a lot of other people too). I would think that period and Halloween (maybe July 4th?) are the prime targets for point re-allocation shenanigans.

I still don't really understand the RTU model, but I am holding a candle for the best of intentions by DVC and them doing things that owners within the Trust will actually appreciate. They have my money already, so what choice do I have?
