When you get to the hotel and your room isn't ready do you still get a key card to use for Express in the park. Will Universal Hotels hold your luggage for you after you check out so you can go back to the park? What has anyone else used for transportation from Universal hotels to Disney Hotels? Did you arrange it before you left or when you got there?
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you can check in as early as you want. They will give you your room key, and hold your luggage until your room is ready.

I didn't do Disney this past trip, but I can tell you that the UO hotels give you a "how to get there" bulletin when you check in, and Mears offers shuttle service for $14 pp R/T, and it only requires 24-hours notice. However, you have to allow for an hour for drop-off and pick-up since it stops at other hotels.
