I'm looking at booking the Best Western Stovall's Inn. On line their website lists that they are 1 block from Disneyland, but when I map it it says .9 miles-that's a big block! Is the distance walkable? Does anyone have any experience? I'm willing to walk a little bit but I don't think my children will make it very far at the end of the day!

We enjoyed staying at Stovall's when our kids were small, but it's farther than I'd want to walk with tired children! Have you checked Candy Cane Inn or HoJo's?

Farther than I prefer. Not impossible though. It's not bad in the morning when you're bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. But on the way home...... :sad2::sad2::sad2:

If you stay there, I'd take the shortcut up to Grand Californian and cut through the lobby to Downtown Disney to cut down on some of your walking distance.

Have you looked at some of the Harbor hotels like Best Western Park Place Inn, Park Vue, Ramada Inn Maingate, HOJO?? They are much closer.

Stovalls has a lot of fans. The walk is about 15 minutes. If the price is good, you know why, the walk.

Yes, a lot of the hotels around DLR stretch the truth about their location. For example, many will claim to be "across the street from Disneyland". But in fact while they are literally across the street - or maybe one block - the distance to the actual entrance to DLR can be quite far.

Thank you all for the advice and AWESOME links! While BW Stovall's Inn looks wonderful, I think we'll go to the BW across from the entrance and save ourselves the joy of exhausted children who "can't walk anymore":thumbsup2

If that is a workable solution for you, that is great because the BW Park Place Inn is not only super close but also a much higher ranked hotel to stay in during your visit.

I read your link and love the part about "It could be worse; you could be at Walt Disney World", that was hilarious! :rotfl: I love WDW and don't mind the bus system at all, but now that I'm also looking for a close-distance hotel at DLR, is funny how perspective changes!
