Would you recommend staying on site at DL (we did when we went to WDW and loved it!) We want to do 2-3 days at DL...we will have 3 children ages 6, 4, and 1 at the time. Is it worth it to stay on site or should we stay off-site? Thanks for your help!

It's up to you wether you want the full disney experience or not. I've stayed at the Disneyland Hotel twice in my lifetime, basically that was enough for me. Yeah it would be nice to stay there again but not for the prices they are asking. For the price your gonna pay for 1 night at a Disney property you can easily get almost 3 nights at a nice hotel right across the street on Harbor.

If you are a "spend the day at the parks" type and think of a motel as "all you do is sleep there" type, then definitely "save" money by staying offsite. The Hojo and Candy Cane Inn have many fans.

If you want your Disney vacation to include Disney amenities then you stay onsite. Those amenities include automatic MM admission, the ability to charge things to your room, excellent pools, restaurants, bars, and being surrounded by the magic 24/7, amongst others things.

Its a personal choice but on this board, most people will encourage you to stay offsite. I'm the creaking door that favors onsite. Its not the same level of immersion you feel at WDW, but it can be pretty close.

I agree with it not being on the same level as the WDW hotels especially the big three on the monorail track (Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and my favorite the Polynesian). With that being said it's a bigger pain to stay offsite at WDW then it is to stay offsite at DL.

Tell us more! I also would love to hear more about the Disneyland OFF-site hotels. We're going to book the "kids-fly-free" with Alaska Airlines--- but they don't give you the hotel details like a "Disser" can!:)
Which ones are some other Favorites?!?!

HoJo
Best Western Park Place
Candy Cane Inn
Carousel Inn
Anaheim Desert Inn

Those seem to be the favorites on this board. Best thing to do is go to tripadvisor.com and look at these hotels for yourself and get reviews from other travelers.

LoL. I always say I've never been to Orlando, but I've been to WDW 12+ times!

Uh huh but even if you stay in Lake Buena Vista at one of the hotels near the Downtown Disney it's still a decent drive to the Magic Kingdom since it's sooo spread out over there. It's crazy!

I agree with Cool Pool, especially if you enjoy WDW Deluxe Resorts (or spend alot of time at the resort).

But i like the Harbor Motels as well.
