Hotel on Harbor that will let us stay parked after checkout?

My friend and I are headed to DLR for a couple days at Christmastime and plan to stay at one of the hotels on Harbor, to be determined. One thing that may help us decide would be finding a hotel that would let us check out in the morning but leave our car parked there until evening when we would leave the parks.

Without having to call EVERY hotel, does anyone know if any of the hotels do this? I would prefer this option to checking out and re-parking in DL parking, both for money and hassle.

I don't mind paying a parking fee at the hotel, and I am interested in a continental breakfast but it's not a dealbreaker.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Not on Harbor but Super 8 on Katella lets you park there after check out. They have free parking and a small free breakfast.

I'm pretty sure Candy Cane Inn lets you do this too. I'm having a hard time remembering if we went to the parks on the day we checked out but I think we did. And of course, they also have free parking and a pretty good free breakfast.

HOJO's has free parking and I have never had a problem leaving my car there after check out while savouring our last hours in the Parks before heading home.

Thanks! HOJO is definitely on the list already but I am considering other options, especially since I don't think they'll have Entertainment rates for the weekends in December.

The parking-after-checkout isn't the type of thing they really advertise on the websites or search engines. That's why it's great to have the DIS for first-person reports.

We've stayed at both hojo's and the ramada maingate, both which allow their guests park after checkout. I think that you can assume that all of the harbor hotels will let you do this for it would mean less business for them if they didn't.

This is a good question but I agree with the last couple posters. I haven't notice any of the hotels saying checkout is 11am take your car with you.

Well they don't all but here's a list of ones we stayed at that did let us stay in the lot after check out. :) :)

HoJo
CCI
Anaheim Plaza
Tropicana
BWPPI did but they had to make sure they had room first because their lot is teeny tiny
and that's the walking distance places we've stayed. Others we drove to the parks.

So does anyone know of a place that told them when you check out that you will need to move your car?

I just returned from the Tropicana, and the parking permit I was issued said parking was only to 12:00 noon on the day of check out.

The Fairfield told us that we had to move our car after check out...otherwise we would risk the possibility of being towed. :scared1:

We took the chance and didn't move it...we weren't towed, but it was a gamble.

The Carousel told us that it depended on how busy their parking lot was. But we were there in low season, so they gave us the go-ahead to keep our car there. But they wouldn't commit until checkout day.

We last stayed at the Fairfield quite a while ago and they told us we wouldn't be able to stay parked after checkout. We were leaving anyway so didn't test it. The one time we stayed at the Tropicana, they told us they were fully booked and we wouldn't be able to stay parked after checkout. Similar story, we were leaving anyway. Both of these hotels simply stated this policy during check-in while listing all their policies. Since we didn't have need, we didn't attempt to obtain an exception. It has been at least three years since we stayed at either of these places.
One thing I've always liked about HOJOs and Candy Cane is that they tell us right up front we're welcome to stay parked there all day on both check-in and check-out days. We booked with Park Vue Inn recently but ended up canceling before staying. FWIW, the agent on the phone when I booked that reservation assured me that we would be welcome to park in their lot the rest of the day after checkout. It's a question I tend to ask now when booking with an unfamiliar place just in case we might want to take advantage of it sometime.

We stayed at the Eden Roc last night for a quickie trip, and they actually recommended we leave the car there to avoid the parking mess. She said as long as we had a reservation that included that day, we could park there.

I wouldn't recommend actually staying there though...

Desert Inn and suiteshave a teeny tiny parking lot. Would bet they wouldwant you to move the car.
