Hotel New York

My bank balance is looking healthier than I predicted so I am very tempted to upgrade to another hotel. I'm looking into Hotel New York but just thought I'd ask peoples opinions on who have stayed there.
Does anyone know if you can ask for a lake view room? This doesn't seem to be an option when booking online.
There is a choice of a Plazza room which you have to pay additional money for, does anybody know what this is for?
Plus does anybody know what the Christmas theming is like in HNY?

Personally, I love the Hotel New York as you'll see from my signature

We'll be staying there for the 6th time in July, and my kids always pick this first Maybe I have blinkers on, but I just cannot fault it for location, service and lovely big rooms

I called DLP today asking what the plazza room is, and it's lake side. I asked about a standard room, but there was no standard rooms available for my dates (march2014)

That's odd. I wouldn't have thought they'd be sold out. Are they available online?

Another thumbs up for the New York from me. We've stayed there twice now, both times with a standard view. First time we were over looking the conference area at the back and the second time overlooking the lovely little garden at the side of the hotel.

We love the big rooms and the quick walk to the park/Eurostar terminal. Your right next door to the village which is really handy and you rarely wait for breakfast as they will extend into one of the conference suits when its busy. You also get the additions are a few hot items.

Hopefully we'll be booking in the next week or so to go back to August

Personally have to say we much prefer the Sequoia for the Christmas theme, it's just so homely and seems to fit the season so well... never forget the few Christmases waking up to snow over the tree's outside our room. Amazing... and the lovely hot chocolates last thing at the bar by the fire.
