I am sure this has been asked before, but what hotel would you recommend near Universal Studios. Preferably one that is inexpensive but yet nice. We only need to stay there one night. TYIA

We were at the Hampton Inn at the intersecetion of Sandlake Drive and Universal Blvd. last year.

It was as hotels go, pretty straightforward. But they did have a fridge, and free breakfast, and two pools...

Many options, you'll have to surf the hotel web sites.
Directly across the street (withing walking distance) from the parking garage is the Holiday Inn, Amerisuites, and Radisson.
Up the road about 1 mile is a Hojo Suites with rooms for about $50 a night. This is where I stay, and like it. They have a fridge and microwave in the room. Pool is nice.
If you really wanna go cheap, there's a regular hojo 1 mile to the south with rooms for about $39 a night, I've also stayed there but prefer the suites version.

If you contact me, I can tell you how to get the best deals ANYWHERE in the area of Universal.... I don't think they would allow me to post it though because they would consider it "adveritising".

So e-mail me, and I'll give you the details on how to get the best deal.

Hi! Im staying at he Sheraton Studio City hotel which is a grand themed hotel. It is themed to Hollywood in the 40's and 50's. Ive heard its a really cool hotel. If you book 21 days ahead of time on the Shearaton main website ( www.starwood.com ) you can get a standard room for about $65.00 a night.... which is good compared to $120.00 It looks like a fun hotel and everyone who has been there (since the change from a rather rinky dinky Quality inn to a more up class resot) say it awesome. It is one of the tallest buildings in the area and features a giant globe and lots of spotlights and stuff. youll like it... the website where you'lll fnd lors ofinfo (not deals) is www.sheratonstudiocity.com
