Hotel Near Universal

Where is the best place to stay that is near Universal? We will be arriving on Friday afternoon, but our room at HRH is not available until Saturday. I tried to add another night there, but they were booked. So, where would you recommend for Friday night?

There are a lot of great hotels near Universal. A priceline hotel would be a good bet and it would be pretty cheap. Here is a link to a hotel near universal that I stayed in and really liked. wet-n-wild is 2 blocks
universal is 5 min away.
kids eat free breakfast buffet.
adults is 4.95
pool with kiddie pool.

Holiday Inn International Drive is good. Ask for a Tower Room though, they are superior.

The Amerisuites are nice and they are just across the street. They also have a continetal breakfast in the lobby.

Also I know the Raddison Twin Towers (also right across the street) had a special rate on the Raddison web site..much lower than their normal rates as of yesterday.

Stayed at Country Inn at Universal Boulevard, from there its easy to reach Universal Studios, but most of all; it's almost brand new but good prices. Stayed there in october 2001 for three nights.

I did the Hampton Inn Sandlake.. the exit for the hotel is on Universal Blvd.

Great room, great rate, I paid $39. Free breakfast, good service, clean rooms, and a five minute (tops) drive to Universal.

I did see some people walking it, although that would be a very HEALTHY walk.

Priceline will have the best deal. We stayed at the Comfort Suites right between Sea World and Universal for $23 on 9/14. It was 2* and had a really nice pool and outdoor bar. You can often get the 3* Wyndham or Sheraton in the Universal zone on I-drive for a higher bid of between $30 and $40.
