We need a hotel for two nights at the end of April for two adults and a one year old. Would love recommendations from others who have stayed 'off-property.' The conference hotel we are staying at earlier that week is booked, so unless something comes open there, we have to move for two nights. I'd like laundry facilities, if possible, at this point in our trip. And I'd like an easy drive to Disney resorts/parks for their allergy-friendly dining, but I don't want to pay Disney resort prices. Hoping to keep it at $100-$150/night. We've done Disney before, but this is our first time staying off property and renting a car.

We may do a Disney park one day during this part of our trip, or we might just relax in the room/by the pool. I typically plan farther in advance (like months, so I'm feeling a bit off my game).

Not sure where you are travelling from ...... BUt ... If you

Take the Hwy I-4 West towards Tampa ...... Take the Exit to Hwy 27 ( Either South or North )

AT that Junction ( On Hwy 27 ) There are 4 or 5 Motels / Hotels . ( Good & Reasonable price )

All these are within a few miles of The Disney area Roads .

Also there is The Omni Hotel at Champions Gate ( Nearby )

We are flying in from the midwest, doing a week in Orlando in conjunction with my conference, and then headed to the Gulf for a week to recover from winter--lol. We are actually staying at the Omni beforehand, and I was hoping to just stay there the whole week we would be in Orlando, but they are booked May 1-2 :(. Maybe there will be a cancellation, but I'd like to reserve something else in case. The conference rate I was getting there is $200/no resort fee, which is not inexpensive, but to just stay in one place and for such a nice place, I thought that was alright.

Thanks--thus was very helpful. The DTD Holiday Inn will be perfect for our needs. No self-service laundry, but we can visit a laundromat if needed. I like that there's no resort fee and we can walk to DTD if we want, and they run their own park shuttles if we choose not to drive.
