Hotel Menage Boutique Anaheim ?

I am a teacher so things have been crazy since we got back from our trip. Sorry for the delay in info. DS and I stayed at the Menage Aug 4-10. It was a really nice hotel. Good service, clean rooms, excellent pool and bar.

We heard the fireworks were amazing from the pool but the two times we were back at the hotel in time they were cancelled for wind. Others there said they were great on other nights.

Walking was not bad but it wasn't close enough to come back to the hotel and walk back later. We walked several days but chose to stay in the resort area rather than come back for a rest. We did walk one morning after having breakfast at the hotel walked back for lunch at the hotel, and then decided to stay rather than walk back again.

Speaking of eating at the hotel, K'ya restaurant was amazing. The food was outstanding. We had breakfast. I had a seared sesame tuna that was out of this world. At lunch they had $5 paninis and would make a cheese plate to order at the bar. I had a Mediterranean plate with hummas, etc. that was great. One of the Dinsey dining employees was raving about the restaurant when I called to make a reservation. It is that good.

All in all we said we would stay there again. If we were coming for a short trip and only going to Disney land we would probably just do something right across the street for convenience but those looked like they had worse rooms and little to no ambiance or food. It's a toss up.

The three days that I traveled to Disneyland via the ART system, I had no problems whatsoever to speak of. Ah, picture it.............a hot stinking day, am I going to walk to the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure, and then ride the tram into Downtown Disney? NO WAY! I went to wait for ART, and in less than five minutes, I was on my first official ART ride, the cost is only $3 per day, or $8.00 for a 3 day pass. Going to Disneyland the next day, in the morning, as I am approaching my stop, the ART bus was just arriving, you could not time it to be any more perfect from that! and the next morning, same thing practically, for I would end up waiting less than 5 minutes before my little red bus came by. The OCTA can also take you there, I made a mistake to ask that driver an ART question, and before I could say anything else, the rude dog, closed his door right in front of my face, that was so damn rude! I hate that man! I don't know you, but I really and truly do hate you, a hole! o.k. now I am back, so anyway, ART yes, octa, not any damn time soon! coming back I had no problems whatsoever either with the ART system! yay ART! just don't miss your last bus ...............

I'm glad you had an enjoyable time at the Hotel Menage. When we went it was terrible, I would not go back.

We found the walk to be just fine and I loved that there was a Starbucks across the street (DH gets up early to grab me one) also it was really neat to watch the DL Fireworks on top of the overpass.

A slight update is in order here for my trip. The trip is back on and there's a hefty cancellation fee so it's on again. I credit my nephew who excitedly told everybody that he was going to see Mickey at his house. This softened a lot of hard feelings over dates and it's back on again.

We are staying at the Menage, which I briefly scouted out on my drive back to the hotel on my last visit. We've decided against ART based on very mixed reviews and the fact that one car will always be able to park for free at Disneyland on account of my premium annual pass.

It looks to me like the Menage may be slightly closer to the Mickey and Friends parking lot and the tram than walking down Harbor. How long is the walk to Mickey & Friends?

I'm not sure how far it is to Mickey and Friends parking but it's not really that far to just walk down Harbour. It's an average of about 10, 15 minutes tops. And it's not like you're walking on a really crowded sidewalk since you're on the opposite side of the road from all the other hotels (you're on the Disney side already).

I'm not sure how old your nephew is but I'm sure it shouldn't be too much of a problem for walking (even if you need a stroller(s) for the children).

I wouldn't even bother with ART, the one day as DH and I were getting ready to walk to DLR a family was waiting for ART they'd be waiting for almost 20 minutes already and were told by concierge it would be another 10, they could have walked to the park and back in the time they sat around waiting.

I hope your stay at the Menage is enjoyable, be careful about using the hot tub, they tend to really overdo the chemicals (as in just dump them in w/o measuring I witnessed this one morning), oh and if you do decide to relax by the pool and grab a cocktail bring your wallet, we paid $10 for one fruity poolside drink (delish but pricey). Oh and don't forget you pay to park at the hotel it's between $10 and $15 a day, so don't be surprised when its added onto your bill.

Have a great trip!

Well my experiences with the ART system were great, I was not about to not try it out, just because some people do not like it. I prefer to do my own thinking.

I've heard a lot of different comments on the walking distance. It may not affect me since we've already decided that we're going to take at least one car every day and I have a premium pass, so parking is covered as long as I'm in the car. I suppose we'll see what happens when we get there. The hard part for me will be waiting for everyone else to get ready since I usually like to be in the parks at opening. (At WDW on the last vacation I had usually been in the parks 2 or 3 hours before anyone else arrived).

Thanks for the tip on the hot tub. I may not use it since I tend to spend every waking hour inside the parks, but others may so I'll pass that along.

We looked at ART, but decided it wasn't right for us. Concern over wait times combined with the fact that paying for parking on one car if we decide to take both cars (remember that one car is free with my AP) would be cheaper than ART on account of our group size.
