Hotel in San Diego

We live in Phoenix, the last thing we want on vacation is mexican. LoL
If you like Mexican food there is a new Miguel's right next to the pier where the Wonder will be docked. Really good.

There are plenty of food options if you stay in the Harbor Drive area.

Going to have to check out the Grant - we're only planning on spending a weekend there - we want to try the Sunday buffett.

We tried both the old building rooms and the rooms on the beach with ocean view and both of them were just not very well appointed quite old and stuffy definitely not what you pay for. The grounds are beautiful though and really loved the food.
We were supposed to be there one week but we cut it short as we couldn't justify the cost and moved to the US Grant which was on a different level!

Do you know if the deli has anything vegetarian or seafood? Might be a good choice for lunch on the day we board - probably wont board until it's too late for lunch on board.

The deli next to the Wyndham is very good and reasonably priced! You can sit outside and be right across the street from the Wonder....literally!

We like to stay in a little boutique hotel directly across the street. Coronado is too old with non-updated rooms for the price. But staying across the street, lets us walk over and enjoy the beautiful grounds and beach still, without paying their obscene parking fee if you want to park their. Plus there are lots of great restaurants within walking distance. We feel like we get the best of both worlds - a better hotel room at a reasonable price, plus the good parts of the Coronado.

Was it that one with the funky lobby with the parrot? We stayed at the Loews in Coronado earlier this summer and took the shuttle from there back to the Loews. DH dropped DD and me off in town as he and DS headed to Sea World, so I wasn't 100% sure where exactly the shuttle picked up on that end of the route; we went in to ask at the front desk and were charmed by the lobby. (We really loved the Loews, incidentally, OP - if your plans change and you don't want to stay right there by the ship.)
