We may be visiting the Statue of Liberty on our drive home from WDW this August. Can someone suggest a safe, clean hotel near the Ferry??

Thanks in Advance.

I believe there is a nice Doubletree in Jersey City.

the doubletree on washington blvd or the newport courtwood in jersey city are probably the cheapest, "nice" hotels. the holland motor lodge is probably the cheapest, but it's RIGHT outside the tunnel, and might be a little sketchy. i've never stayed at any of these hotels, but i lived in jersey city for a few years.

I think someone on the DIS recommended this hotel in Secaucus, NJ

Courtyard Secaucus Meadowlands
455 Harmon Meadow Boulevard
Secaucus,NJ 07094

If the OP just wants to go to the statue, the best bet is a hotel by Liberty State Park, and take the NJ ferry to the statue. A Jersey City hotel would be a good bet.

Total memories of going to visit my Grandma in Jersey City, being stuck in traffic and wishing we could just stay at the Holland Motor Lodge. :rotfl:

To the OP - I let TripAdvisor be my guide. Check out their info here:

Apparently the Holland Motor Lodge has good reviews!

Doubletree is very nice, area is safe and near a mall with a nice food court. Also a few blocks away is the candlewood suites. Also very nice near Exchange Place and rates also very good for an overnight stay.

Another nice thing about the hotels at Exchange Place is that there are loads of restaurants and shopping in the area (walking distance).

Being a former Weehawken resident, I know that the Sheraton at Lincoln Harbor is gorgeous too!

We've stayed at the Sheraton Suites in Weehawken previously as part of a Statue of Liberty visit/NYC trip, so I second that hotel!

Thanks everyone. We will be driving home to MA from Hilton Head and thought that a stop to see the Staute would be a welcome break from the drive home. Trying to work it into the budget!!! I knew the budget board was the place to go for questions!!!!
