Hotel in HHI for 1 night

For all you HHI experts, have any of you stayed in a hotel for 1 night before checking into Disney's resort? We are looking to stay at HH for 2 nights on our return trip home from Vero and WDW in June and only 1 night is available at HHI. Any recommended reasonable hotels in the area (doesn't need to be on the beach). I really just want to check out the area because I think it will be a great place for DH and I in the off season.

I would book in on member cash and waitlist it. You won't get into your room until at least 4 and have to check out by 11a.m. Just my two cents worth. Or just spend the one night and stay all day and start driving part way home.

Hilton on the beach across 278 from Disney HHI. It's just down from the beach house.

Also, you could come over to Savannah and stay here for a night. We have some GREAT hotels downtown.

I would love to stay in Savannah. I lived there when I was 2 but moved shortly after. I know my parents loved it when they lived there. Savannah definitely is on my list when it's just DH and I.

I hear what you're saying. I don't think it's worth it just for one night. The member discount was available but we need a 2 bedroom and it's a bit pricey. I think I will just keep calling and keep the fingers crossed! The worst is that we drive straight home.

We used priceline last year and got Bluffton HI Express for $57 including taxes/fees. Given the situation, I'm not sure I'd do the area for your stated purpose for 1 night in one hotel and another at DVC. I'd likely plan 2 nights in Savannah or Charleston instead. If I were going for HH, I'd wait list and schedule cash for the other night. You might also look at RCI for 2 nights at a non DVC resort.
