I know you can use your hotel id's to make purchases in the parks for merchandise if you leave a credit card with your resort but can you also use these at the fast food counters in the parks? Or can you only use these for sit down restaurants? I just don't want to carry alot of cash with me in the parks.:Pinkbounc

Most counter service restaurants do accept the resort ID's for payment. You will not be able to use them at the ice cream and soda carts. Basically, if a place has a cash register, you should be able to use it there.

I thought I read something just recently that said they are now going to be able to charge to the room card at the fast food and kiosks but I am no sure where I saw it, perhaps someone else saw it or knows if that is now the case.

Yes WDW added wireless stations so that everything now has access for using resort ID to charge back to the room. I don't remember where I read it but I did a few weeks ago.

I read that the wireless stuff had been rolled out just at MK and Epcot for now, but would eventually expand to all the parks.

You can otherwise use room charge at all Disney stores and restaurants. It is nice - one card can be used to charge things, get in your hotel room, get in the parks and (if you are a concierge guest) activate the elevator for the concierge floor. I have always loved this convenience!
