Can anyone give me any info on the following hotels?
Space Coast Days Inn, Cheny Highway, Titusville
Howard Johnson Express Inn, 2082 N. Atlantic Ave, CocoaBeach
Days Inn Expo, Cocoa
Luna Sea, Cocoa Beach
Quality Suites, 3655 N. Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach

We are staying on-site at WDW 6/16-6/20 AND 6/25-6/30. Daughter is going to space camp at KSC 6/21-6/25, need CLEAN, non-mildewy, non-musty smelling hotel room in area, cheap(ish). Nobody on the Orlando hotels board had much info, suggested that you cruise-folk were the real experts in the Cocoa Beach area. CLEAN, 'fridge and 'wave are plusses, also separated sleeping/living area or suite.

THANKS SO MUCH!! Enjoy your cruise!

I have passed the luna sea....that name crackes me up.....several times and it is a small, drive up to your motel door type motel...if I can remember correctly. I joke all the time when I see it that how could they name a hotel that sounds like lunacy...makes you crazy...doesn't it???

Space Coast Days Inn, Cheny Highway, Titusville
Nice enough property, but located at a boring, barren highway exit.
Howard Johnson Express Inn, 2082 N. Atlantic Ave, CocoaBeach
Old, decaying property.
Days Inn Expo, Cocoa
On the mainland. I don't know anything about it. I'd rather stay by the beach.
Luna Sea, Cocoa Beach
The name aside, this property is very ordinary looking. I wouldn't stay there. Plus, it's across the highway from the beach.
Quality Suites, 3655 N. Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach
Nice property on a very small piece of property. Nice suites. Good value. Probably the best property on your list. It has the "CLEAN, 'fridge and 'wave are plusses, also separated sleeping/living area or suite." that you mentioned wanting.
You might want to review my summary of Space Coast lodging.

I have read the dcl tribute site, all the hotels mentioned are good? We were curious as to the Comfort Inn and suites. Reasonable rates and pretty close to the water...
It is clean enough? And easy enough to get to the beach?
Thanks...

Dave-

Thanks for the info. I have a ressie at Quality Suites ($80/nt, 1br suite) but was hoping to save a little $$$. Picked up a great rate for Days Inn ($39/nt, 1K, 1 sofabed, fridge and microwave) but I know Days Inn can be iffy. Actually, we are not coming out to Cocoa to vacation; while DD is at camp, DH and I are planning on working (we unfortunately have the kinds of jobs that can follow us around!). Location is not that important, but cleanliness is. HoJo is available at hotelkingdom.com for $59/nt for a split suite (like at Comfort Suites) but if it looks shabby on the outside, I don't think I want to see the inside!

Just a thought, might be more then you were looking to spend, but how about Ron Jon's? Use the code 102 (I think), and you'll have all the comforts of home in a one bedroom, or your minimum requirement of fridge and micro, plus it is a brand new property, so it definitly won't be musty. Going there in about 2 and a half weeks, so I can give better info then if you want. If you look around on the cruise boards here, you'll see several threads with discount codes and great info. (including their website).
