Planning a quick trip to Disney next winter. It will be me, my sis, her youngest daughter (9) and our dad. We will be renting a car, so I thought maybe we could save some money and stay off-site. We have stayed off-site before, and it is not a huge issue to us.

The problem is, we will need 3 beds, or at least 2 beds and a sleeper. Plus, my niece has been promised that we will stay at a hotel that has a pool slide. But that seems to be an illusive combo, something that will have 3 seperate beds and a pool slide. I know the Hilton in DTD has both, but they charge over $300 a night, which is not what I have in mind by saving money. Does anyone have any suggestions on where we could stay off-site, save money, and have both of our requirements met?

The Sheraton Vistana has 2 bedroom accomodations for the price of a single room at other hotels. The DIS offers great rates- check out the sticky at the top of the page. Their amenities look great- there are 7 pools around the property! I don't know for sure, but I'd think there must be a pool slide at one of them.

Another thing to consider would be renting a condo or townhome. Windsor Hills is a popular complex with DISers- they have a very nice pool and clubhouse area, and you can get a 2 or 3 bedroom condo for the price of a single room at other hotels. There are many other developments that you could look into as well. You can start by gojng to www.vrbo.com and looking at all the different areas and neighborhoods. There is also a good website for Windsor Hills- www.windsorhillsrent.com , where you can get owners to contact you with offers for the dates you are looking for.

The place I just stayed at has 2 king beds, 1 queen, 4 twins, 1 full, and a heated pool, but no slide. She has a special from $220 a night for $142. I'm not sure how long it goes for, but you can check with the owner. The washer and dryer was a plus. It was only a few miles from Disney. You will save money from renting off site. rentalatdisneyarea.com

Would check into renting at Bonnet Creek. You could probably get a two bedroom for under $200. It has it's own laundry, it within the gates of disney (but not disney owned) two bedrooms, two bath, full kitchen etc. It is so close, you can see the epcot fire works. Depending on when you book you could get a two bedroom for as low as $140 per night. I am going in Jan and the review have been great. Just be sure to check out who you are renting from. I really checked out my guy though previous renters here on the dis board and then I called the property and they confirmed that he was well known and had a great reputation.

Good luck

We stay at the Marriott Village, when we don't stay on property. The village consists of the Springhill Suites, The Courtyard, and The Fairfield. The three hotels are in the same plaza right off of I-4 and one mile from Downtown Disney. They have their own food court and security gate and complementary breakfast. The Spring Hill has a suite with two beds and and a pull out sofa, so this should meet your needs. The pool is a zero entry pool(like walking off a beach to the water). Not sure about the slide, but they had a lot of kid pool play stuff. Slides and diving boards are a real insurance issue in Florida and this might be why it makes this an ellusive combo? I do know that all slides are shut off when life guards are not present. The hotels are only about 6 years old and all three have already went through a refurbishment about a year ago. I have paid as little as $79 per night to $150 per night, just depends on when you are going?
