So my parent s want to possible come on our trip so now I'm looking at hotels again. I saw Embassy Suites Anaheim - South I know that it's a mile away. (UPDATE! EMBASSY OFF THE TABLE. DISNEYLAND HOTEL? SEE BELOW)

I need suggestion though. Do any of the On Site hotels offer two bedroom suites? I'm OK with sharing a suite as long as there are separate bedrooms. Not a pull out a couch two separate actual beds.
I saw a great offer for Disneyland Hotel but I know there are renovations going on.

ETA Ok does anyone have pictures of the suites at Disneyland Hotel? How much construction is really going on. Will it be done for the most part by the holidays?

We've stayed at Embassy Suites South a few times and never walked (and we are good walkers!). I would guess it would take about 20-30 minutes to walk it with the lights, to get to the actual DLR entrance. We always drove to the park. It's not a walk I would want to do after a long day at DL. Keep in mind also that the "suites" at Embassy Suites are 2 rooms with a sofa bed in one and either a King or 2 Queens in the other room. You wouldn't have 2 seperate bedrooms with proper beds.

Another option in that area might be Residence Inn which is in the same block and has larger suites available-more suitable for larger groups.

The Disney hotels all have suites, but you will pay $$$ for them. GCH also has the DVC Villas of course with 2 bedroom suites. Once again they are expensive.

If you want to be in a Disney hotel and have separate bedrooms for the least cost, you'd be best to just to get 2 rooms at Paradise Pier.

Not concerned about the price at all.
Thanks for letting me know that it is not walkable!

The DLH is upwards of 1000/night for the 2 bedroom suite (I think I was quoted closer to 1500 or 1700 when I inquired). Two adjoining rooms is much more budget friendly. I blieve a 2br suite is just a one br suite wih an adjoining room anyways.

In 2008, we had an end of hall 1 bedroom with my parents in the adjoining double at DLH... It has a set of special doors only to these two rooms as well, so I'm guessing it can easily be one of their 2 bedrooms. It was at the end of a hall in the tower behind the waterfall on the street/city side (opposite where they began the renovations on that tower). The adjoining wasn't anything special. Our room was really nice but old and outdated. I might have some pictures... I'll try to dig them up. The living was a wet bar, a couple chairs, couch, coffee table. Also there were smaller beds (double instead of queen?) in the adjoining.

Now, is a GC Villa an option? Call and ask maybe? They are spendy, though I think possibly a lower cost than the suites per night. You could also rent points from a DVC member and stay in a Villa that way. It is probably the cheapest way to do a 2 bedroom.

If you don't want to go for any of the Disney hotels but want suites in a walking distance, the Residence Inn Maingate (there are two RI's in the area) is good.

We stayed in a bi-level loft which had two queen beds downstairs + bathroom, kitchen and lounge area, and a queen bed upstairs with it's own bathroom. Breakfast included in the price. A 10-15 minute walk to the gates depending on how fast you walk and reasonably priced.

Did you take the Embassy Suites "off the table" because of the walking distance? When we stayed there they had a freebie shuttle bus that dropped us off right at the entrance to the park. Several other nice hotels in the area have complimentary shuttle service too.

Which Embassy Suites did you stay at? I know there is one North of DLR that does have a free shuttle, but the Embassy Suites South does not - Unless this is something new.

To OP: I have also heard the Hyatt down near the Embassy Suites has its own private shuttle - and I would think they would also have suites. Here is a link to the info about DLH suites (The photos only show the standard old rooms though) :http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland-hotel/

We stayed in a DLH 2 BR Suite on our last stay in 2007 before renovations.

We were in Wonder tower, where the waterfalls used to be.

Our rooms were the whole short end of the tower looking over Paridise Pier Hotel, Grand Hotel and Pool at DLH. We could see Grizzly Peak and the Matterhorn.

We entered through double doors at the end of the hallway. Turned right into a corner Double Room that had two queen beds and a small couch. This room had its own full bathroom. There was a small space that would normally have been the end of the hall way and then too the right you entered into a communal area with a wet bar, couches and TV and toilet. Off this communal room was a King Size Bedroom with its own bathroom. We had 4 adults and 2 children.

THe additional costs was not significant over our 8 day stay over two separate rooms and it was nice to relax during the evening after putting kids down. We could also see the fireworks from our room and would often grab hot chocolate and coffee on our way back. We are doing a suite stay at the GCH this next trip.

We purchased as a package and got a night free as a promotion in there.

Space wise it was great, and I love being on site, I cannot comment on the current construction but I thought I would share the specifics of the suite. I have photos if you would like but they are prerenovation so I am not sure how relevant they would be now.

What about a two bedroom at GC, DVC. The one bedroom with the pull out sofa in the living room would be cheaper but if money is not a object I would go with the two bedroom. If you want a room over holiday I guess this would not work unless you rented points for a member.

Carousel Inn is right across the road from DL (closer than DLH) and has 2 bedroom view suites...
