Ok, today has been one of those great days that you remember for ages - nice pleasant day out in Leeds, meal at a Spanish tapas bar where (after a pitcher or two of Sangria), felt brave enough to raise the topic of another visit to Florida (see my tentative post about Sheraton Vistana Villages the other day)! My pitch was so successful that I managed to successfully get an agreement with the missus on a three week visit next September, but also a 1 week stay on-site at Disney into the bargain! :teeth:

So, I need a bit of advice, I suspect that it would be better to spend the last week of the three at Disney so there's no 'let-down' at moving to a 'lesser' hotel - but what do you think? And which is the best hotel at Disney - probably aiming at a moderate, no GF for me I'm afraid, my name's daveyoghurt not davemillions! I'm going to sit back now and reflect on a great days negotiating - it's not often everything goes to plan!!!

In our household its normally me (the wife) who has to persuade husband to go to Florida.....didn't succeed this year, hence the name "Girlsontour"! Doesn't want to go therefore i go without him :)

As for hotels i yearn to go to AKL but am working on that for next year - i drop the hint and then leave it for a couple of months and then just mention it again - by which time husband usually thinks it was his idea in the first place!! :scratchin

Oh yes, moderate hotels, been to CBR and thought it was lovely. Trying CSR out this year just because the reviews have raved on about it (and HRH again). Check out Disney Resorts Forum that might help you decide . :thumbsup2

CR, AKL and WL are three of the cheaper Deluxe resorts, so it might be worth checking them out.

As for moderate resorts, I have heard very good reviews for POFQ. Many people also comment on the upscale feel to CSR.

:wizard:

POFQ is a good moderate, it is smaller, quiet and very attractive, also a nice boat trip to DTD, and never much of a walk from where you park the car. Yes, I would do the last week at the Disney resort.

I love OKW. nicely spread out, homely feel, quiet, nice restaurant, boat ride from DTD, new pool which-I-haven't-seen-yet-but-fully-intend-to!

Cheers for the replies, I'm still kind of undecided about where to stay, I'd like somewhere that's nice to have an evening drink and relax, I know there's DTD but sometimes you just can't be bothered if you know what I mean - so where would you recommend for that? I must admit that POFQ looks really nice and I'll have to look into the cost of staying at OKW - I thought that that was the most expensive of the lot! Thanks again!

There are some nice hotels on south I-drive, Rosen Center and Rosen Plaza, they are not budget hotels and I guess in a way more for the business man than the holiday maker....but they are very nice.

Normally stay in villas so cannot really recommend any others, if you try www.tripadvisor.com you will get reviews and the most popular, and you can search on price etc

you can sometimes get a really great rate at the Wilderness Lodge which is a wonderful place to relax...

As for moderates, we used to stay at Port Orleans Riverside a lot and found it very relaxing to be there. I think there's a bar there as well and that once or twice a week there's a piano sing along guy who performs there and is very popular...

but if you can get a good rate at the WL, I'd opt for that one......for a relaxing evening, you can get on the boat and take a ride over to the MK and back....that always relaxes me....
