Hi!!

We are planning a trip in August to King of Prussia and then going also to New York City and DC. I am looking for recommendations for hotels in those areas.

My daughter is going to a conference in King of Prussia, so the hotel needs to be there and not in Philadelphia. Looking for something that is on the lower end of the budget, so between $80-$110 per night. We're hoping for queen beds, a refrigerator and a microwave at this hotel as we will be here for 6 nights :-)

We will be spending 2 nights in New York City and going to see Cats on Broadway and then doing some usual touristy stuff. Again, something more budget minded, although I don't think we're going to find anything decent in the $80-$110 range! LOL!!

We will also be spending 3 nights in DC. Doing the usual touristy stuff there as well, so something near the metro would be awesome! We will have a car, but driving there isn't fun and we'd like to avoid it if possible. Again, budget minded here as well.

TIA for all your help!!

There are like 20 hotels in king of prussia, I'm sure you can easily find one in that range. Just look at Priceline or something and pick one. When we moved her and came house hunting we used to Priceline hotels for like 50-60 a night 2 years ago, I can't imagine it's changed much.

You won't find anything for less than 200 in NYC that isn't a total crap hole and it will easily cost 50+ dollars a night for parking. If you must bring a car, try staying in jersey city it'll
Hoboken and taking jersey transit into Manhattan.

Look at the Homewood Suites in Audubon, PA - 10 min to King of Prussia - each room has a kitchenette

Three hotels that I would recommend for the KoP trip would be The Desmond Hotel (in Malvern), the Radnor Hotel (in Radnor) or the Great Valley Shereton (also in Malvern). The Great Valley Corporate center has many business traveler friendly hotels, and all are about a 10 minute drive to KoP. While there are several hotels very close to the mall itself, they tend to attract questionable clientele.

For NYC, have you considered one of the Pod hotels?

When we stayed in DC, we actually stayed in Arlington at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn. It's near the Potomac River and right next to the Key Bridge which leads to Georgetown (we walked to Georgetown one evening for dinner). It's a block from the Rosslyn Metro station. It wasn't the fanciest or nicest hotel but it suited our needs perfectly and it wasn't too $$$. Best thing is they offer FREE parking. Yes, FREE. We parked the whole week and took the Metro all over DC. I'd stay there again.

Yep, there's lots of hotels in and around KOP. The traffic off of 202 can be not so nice. The mall brings lots of traffic. For DC, I too have stayed at that Holiday Inn in Roslyn. We drive to DC, so no way am I paying 50 or more dollars a night to park. I've got a subway pass, and just reload it, when I need more cash. The Metro is fine, and goes to all the places in DC. I'd stay outside the city, near a Metro stop, and free parking. There's many hotels that fit that. For NYC, everything's expensive. We take the train, and taxi, as no way I am driving in the City. I'd stay in Northern Jersey, and take the public transportation into the city.

Sounds like a fun trip.

I travel to kop for work sometimes. I'm curious about what kind of clientele you mean! The hotels around the mall strike me as a very normal.

All public knowledge, but several of the hotels have seen prostitution rings, drug rings, and murders related to both.

What is a Pod hotel?

Wow. Seems so mundane on the surface.

Me and several of my colleagues have stayed at the Hyatt house on mall blvd several times and lived to tell the tale.
