So I have 2 upcoming trips and am torn on where to stay for each trip. Going for 2 nights (Saturday-Monday) in mid-May and 3 nights (Saturday-Tuesday) in mid-June. I have never stayed at Candy Cane, have stayed at Hojo and loved it and have not stayed at Park Vue though I am staying there alone in March.

The costs for the 3 hotels are as follows for each trip. There isn't a huge cost difference (less than $100 per trip) so that is not the hugest factor.

May
Candy Cane (2 queen beds)-$443
Park Vue (queen bed and bunk bed)-$465
Hojo- (queen bed and bunk bed) $531

June
Candy Cane (2 queen beds)-$805
Park Vue-(queen bed and bunk bed)-$815
Hojo-(queen bed and bunk bed)-$867

The May trip is just my 3 year old daughter and I and we will be getting there by lunchtime on Saturday and leaving late afternoon on Monday so I don't think we would use the pool on this trip so that makes me think I should choose between Candy Cane and Park Vue. As far as I can tell from Google maps Candy Cane and Hojo are the same distance away from Disneyland (in opposite directions on Harbor). Hojo has a great pool but is tied for furthest away and is most expensive and without using the pool it seems like the others are a better option for this trip.
Pro of Park Vue is the distance and the bunk bed is a plus to my daughter. Pro of Candy Cane is breakfast. I know Candy Cane has a shuttle but I doubt we would use it because I will have a stroller and I am not really a fan of having to fold it up and take everything out of the bottom of the stroller to get in the shuttle.

The June trip is my 3 year old and I and my cousin, his wife and their 4 year old so we would be getting 2 of the rooms listed above. We would fly in on Saturday but not go to the parks until Sunday since they are buying tickets (we have Magic Keys) for the trip. Same pros for Park Vue and Candy Cane but add in that Hojo has the best pool and we would actually probably use it Saturday afternoon before we go to dinner in Downtown Disney (or at Goofy's Kitchen) so I kind of lean toward Hojo for this trip.

Advice? Anything else or other places I should consider? I like close but the walk from Hojo wasn't bad at all when we went last year, nice toddler pool for the June trip is a plus and bunk beds to make the toddler happy is also a plus, breakfast also a plus. Don't need parking and things with a Magic Key discount are great too.

I’m a big fan of ParkVue for short trips (just stayed there a couple weeks ago.) The walk at the end of the night is a game changer for me.

For your June trip given you would have hotel time and are with others I would lean to the Hojo. My boys (7-10-13) dislike the walk at the end of the night but with younger kids in strollers its really about the adults tolerance. For that trip the HoJo has a more “vacation vibe” IMO.

EDIT: have not stayed at Candy Cane so can’t comment. My sister recently stayed at the Tropicana and its about the same walk as Park Vue but had more fun “theming” for her 3 year old.

For the June trip I would go with Hojo. I think the water play area and pool will be enjoyed by your group. I haven't stayed at Park Vue, but I have stayed at Candy Cane, and I feel the Hojo rooms are larger which also is something to be appreciated whenever party size is larger than 2.

I would go with Park Vue in May and Hojo in June. With a three year old, it would be nice to have a quick walk back to the room, just in case. While Candy Cane has the breakfast and is newly renovated, I'd still give the edge to Park Vue for proximity. For your June dates, pool time sounds like it's in the plans, so Hojo all the way.

I think your plan sounds great for Hojo in June.

Park vue is so close!! And we really enjoyed our stay there. If you stay at candy cane, do you think you would take advantage of the free breakfast? We usually just walk from candy cane too. It’s not a bad walk at all, and like you said, very similar in length to Hojo. I would lean towards CCI for May since it’s cheaper and has breakfast. But if you aren’t breakfast people then I would go with Park Vue. We have had great stays at all 3 properties. Have so much fun on your trips!

Yeah we do eat breakfast so that is what is making me consider it but the closeness of Park Vue is intriguing and the excitement of my 3 year old for a bunk bed is the other factor. I think I will book both and then after my end of March trip make a final decision.

I would choose Park Vue in May for the free parking, proximity to the parks and free breakfast (if still offered).

The $22 difference between CC and PVue would feel like a million dollars at the end of a long day. Also consider how much more you can get done in the morning if you have a quick grab and go breakfast in your room and can just walk across the street through security (we routinely do uncrustables and a banana, then a churro once in the park. Because … churros.)

I stick with Park Vue these days because I love that it's right across the street, and with bunk bed the kids don't have to share a bed (they hate that). I've never visited their pool or breakfast.

Candy Cane is nice, but we only used the shuttle half the time and we never went to the breakfast. The walk isn't bad, but isn't fun when you've been on your feet all day.

When the kids were little I loved Hojo for the water park. The staff there has always been wonderful as well. With little ones and a summer trip I'd totally do this one. When it's too cold for the pool I'd do Park Vue.

To me, you can’t beat the premium rooms at the CCI. The rooms are larger and for us the main benefit is the breakfast delivered daily to your room. It’s a major time saver in the morning.
