So I have 2 upcoming trips and am torn on where to stay for each trip. Going for 2 nights (Saturday-Monday) in mid-May and 3 nights (Saturday-Tuesday) in mid-June. I have never stayed at Candy Cane, have stayed at Hojo and loved it and have not stayed at Park Vue though I am staying there alone in March.
The costs for the 3 hotels are as follows for each trip. There isn't a huge cost difference (less than $100 per trip) so that is not the hugest factor.
May
Candy Cane (2 queen beds)-$443
Park Vue (queen bed and bunk bed)-$465
Hojo- (queen bed and bunk bed) $531
June
Candy Cane (2 queen beds)-$805
Park Vue-(queen bed and bunk bed)-$815
Hojo-(queen bed and bunk bed)-$867
The May trip is just my 3 year old daughter and I and we will be getting there by lunchtime on Saturday and leaving late afternoon on Monday so I don't think we would use the pool on this trip so that makes me think I should choose between Candy Cane and Park Vue. As far as I can tell from Google maps Candy Cane and Hojo are the same distance away from Disneyland (in opposite directions on Harbor). Hojo has a great pool but is tied for furthest away and is most expensive and without using the pool it seems like the others are a better option for this trip.
Pro of Park Vue is the distance and the bunk bed is a plus to my daughter. Pro of Candy Cane is breakfast. I know Candy Cane has a shuttle but I doubt we would use it because I will have a stroller and I am not really a fan of having to fold it up and take everything out of the bottom of the stroller to get in the shuttle.
The June trip is my 3 year old and I and my cousin, his wife and their 4 year old so we would be getting 2 of the rooms listed above. We would fly in on Saturday but not go to the parks until Sunday since they are buying tickets (we have Magic Keys) for the trip. Same pros for Park Vue and Candy Cane but add in that Hojo has the best pool and we would actually probably use it Saturday afternoon before we go to dinner in Downtown Disney (or at Goofy's Kitchen) so I kind of lean toward Hojo for this trip.
Advice? Anything else or other places I should consider? I like close but the walk from Hojo wasn't bad at all when we went last year, nice toddler pool for the June trip is a plus and bunk beds to make the toddler happy is also a plus, breakfast also a plus. Don't need parking and things with a Magic Key discount are great too.
