Hotel Help and a few questions

If you book HoJo, I suggest you do not book the non-refundable and non-cancel rate. I just booked that rate on Sunday for our October trip and found a lower rate the next day and they will not match the lower rate.
Sad! I made sure to book a refundable rate even though it cost more because we are holding out a little hope that at 7 months out we might get a DVC room at GC.

That sucks!!! I double checked my confirmation email and it says may cancel within 48 hours.
It wasn't until I got the confirmation that I saw it was non refundable. I wasn't going to worry about it as long as the rate was good. But then I found a better rate that they wouldn't match because of the non-refundable part. I am trying to resolve with their reservation team. I have screenshots in my other post. I think they have a glitch and don't realize it.

If you rent a cabana, it gets a certain number of people use of the pool area all day.
Do you know anyone not staying at the hotel who has done this? It sounds like the perfect option for me but on the website it says “guests of the hotel are invited to rent...”

You can definitely use your car seat in an Uber or Lyft...
Always double check -- we've had people post that they had issues with this at DLR. Not with travel boosters, but with actual car seats. Not sure what the problems were, but it can't hurt to make sure ahead of time that your car seat will be okay.

Usually the biggest issue is that in CA your kid has to be rear facing till 2 years old (which is not the case in every state). If you bring a forward facing seat and the child is under 2, the uber or lyft driver may refuse to transport you as they as the driver are subject to the ticket. If your Uber or Lyft driver refuses to take a child in an acceptable safety seat (or does not know where the tether or latch points are) you can cancel the ride and send a ticket to support so that you don't get charged for the cancellation.
We have taken HUNDREDS of uber and lyft rides and only had to cancel once because of child seat issues.

I went once as a guest of someone who did this but it was probably 7-8 years ago, so things may have changed.

This clarification is helpful -- thank you. I think someone posted something else, too, about the vehicle showing up not being the one described on the app (the driver said something about his/her car being in the shop) -- which meant that the expected car would have been fine for the car seat, but the car that actually showed up (older, beat up, etc.) could not fit the car seat and all passengers. It just helps for posters here to know what to expect, especially since we get people who've never used ride share services before.

Thanks for the information. I will be bringing a rear facing car seat for my daughter. She is not going to forward face anytime soon! We have used Uber and Lyft many times, just never with my daughter.
