Hello,

My husband and 3 girls will be going to Disney World for the first time in July. We are going to be staying for 2 weeks. Our problem is that most Disney Resorts only accept 4 people to a room. With the exceptions of the Polynesian and Floridian (way to expensize for us). We'd like to stay in the $125.00 a night range if possible.

So, we made a reservation at the Nikki Bird Resort for a kids suite. The more reading I do about it the less appealing it seems.

Can anyone recommend a good hotel that is close to the park and would fit a familyof 5? My daughters are 8,7,4.

Thanksin advance,

Kat

You could stay on Disney property in a Mod, Port Orleans Riverside, it has a trundle bed that comes out of one of the double beds (more like a queen I think) for one of your kids so it fits 5. Not sure on the price we went durring value season and I think got it for 134 w/the AAA discount, or maybe $123 I can't remember, but something worth checking out.

Vistana Resorts are very nice too. They have one and two bedroom condos with kitchens and patios/balconies. I think there is a link on the Dis home page. It's really close to Disney too.

We stayed there last October with our family of 5, and were very happy. It isn't on property, but it's pretty close to it.

You could also look into Caribe Royale and Buena Vista Suites. Caribe Royale has 1 bedroom villas with a beautiful pool area right outside the Disney gate. Buena Vista Suites is right next door. Another nice one - not sure if you can do 5 in a room though, is Radisson Resort Parkway. These are all Mousesavers preferred hotels. If you go to that website, you will be able to see them as well as a review and special mousesaver rates.

Good luck to you.

I can't believe the deal I got. We're staying at a condo at Emerald Island which is one of the closest developments to WDW for $500/week including taxes! That works out to $71/night tax included.

Here's where we're staying:

We'd stayed onsite a WDW last year at ASMo. I loved it but this year my youngest is over 3 and they won't let us stay with 5 in that room. To tell the truth I'm looking forward to having some spreading out room.

We have 3 girls too! Since this is your first trip to WDW, I'd recommend Port Orleans with the trundle bed. If you're just going to go to WDW, this is such a great way to do it. However, check for the best rates. It's very nice to not have to drive anywhere, and it really feels like a maigical Disney vacation that way. We loved Port Orleans!

This year we stayed offsite at Cypress Point. Great resort, 2bdrm condo, loved the location and extra room. Our girls are getting older, and we spent time at Universal and Sea World so this worked great this time. We all agreed though, that if we were just going to WDW... on-site at a moderate resort is the best. The deluxe ones look fun, but I can't get myself to spend the money on those when the mods are so nice too and much more reasonable.

Have fun! The first time is so special.

we're staying at the Comfort Suites Maingate East. Sleeps 6. Got great reviews and has free breakfast.

We just stayed at the Residence Inn/SeaWorld which is 3 minutes from SeaWorld & 15 minutes from Disney....It was $149 a night, but came with a wonderful complimentary hot breakfast buffet....if you are breakfast people, that could come to $50 a day easily....all the rooms are suites so we had a fridge, microwave, 2 queen beds & a pull out sofa....

We are also a family of 5 and the world is set up for families of 4!! We always stay at Cypress Point and love the space it gives us - 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (one with a jacuzzi tub), a full kitchen, dining area, living room with sleep sofa and screened-in patio (w/table & chairs). It also has a washer and dryer IN the unit. The pool areas are nice and they offer activities for the children. There is a Winn-Dixie grocery store very close by (sign up for their FREE discount card to get sale prices).

We stayed there this past Feb. and got the 2 bedroom condo through Hotel Kingdom for $93 per night - what a bargain!!! You do need a car, but you're only 5 minutes from DTD. There are also a lot of restaurants (many of them inexpensive) nearby and you can eat breakfast in your room and save a TON of money! There is also a quick route taking back roads to Sea World and Universal if you go to those parks too.

Someday I'd love to stay onsite but I love the location and roominess of CP while we have our entire family going with us! I love to save money on the hotel (which you nay not spend lots of time in anyway) so we can do more at the parks, buy souvenirs, eat out (especially at Disney restaurants), etc.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We just booked a 3 bedroom townhome at Windsor Hills. It looks nice from the pics.

Thanks,
Kat
