Although we already have reservations at Disney's Hilton Head resort for Thanksgiving week, they start Sunday and we just made flight reservations arriving Saturday (Sunday was super-expensive). So now we're looking for a hptel for one night. Although our theory is sort of "It's only one night so how bad can anywhere be?", I kind of want clean and decent. DH balks at the Red Roof Inn, but it's getting decent reviews for the price. The Players Club, Days Inn, Hampton Inn, and (I think it's called) Park Lane Condiminiums are also reasonably priced. Well, maybe if I'm lucky, I can get MC at the Disney resort for Saturday nite, but assuming I can't, any recommendations?

Depending on what you are looking for, Harbourside III villas is located directly across the harbour from the DVC resort and has 1, 2 and 3BR villas available for rent. I don't know about availability or rates for that weekend, but here is a link - http://harboursideiii.com/villas.htm .

Many accommodations at HH are available at very reasonable rates due to the economy (I do know that Harbourside is one of those) but it still depends on what sized villa will meet your needs that weekend. I know that 2BR villas this winter/spring were available for $125 per night - not sure about Thanksgiving.

Good luck! :)

Friends of ours like the Hampton Inn, plus there's the free breakfast when you get going the next morning.

Hampton Inn!!

We always make our 12 hour drive on Saturday and spend the night at Hampton Inn on the Island and then wake up Sunday morning and check-in to DIsney HHI for the week.

The Hampton is always clean and nice and has a good breakfast in the morning.

I have not heard the same about Red Roof. I also recommend Hampton and I believe their is one also before you cross the 278 bridge. Also Hilton Garden Inn around the bridge area as well.

I have tried the Holiday Inn Express just off 95 before cutting into HHI as was not as happy as with the above.

We've stayed at the hampton and liked it. If flying into Savannakh you might also consider staying there. Some great places right down town.

When we stayed at the Hampton, I woke up early checkin morning and went to DVC to see if I could get keys and checkin. Not only could i check in and unload stuff, I had my pick of rooms. What a great way to start the vacation.

Thanks everyone, but problem solved! And I'm so excited about it. For only about $30 more than the Hampton we got an added night in a 1 BR on member's cash. It's linked to the rest of the reservation, so we won't even have to move. I know this has worked pretty well in the past-we had 1 Thanksgiving with several nights on MC and the rest on points. I think the reservation went back and forth between points and MC a couple times. But when we were there, we couldn't tell which nights were which. So I'm so glad to get the extra night.

We are at Days Inn for $75 a night with AAA I could have added a second night but it was $80 more than my other cash rate and there for raise my 4 night stay rate too. So Days Inn for us.
