Last summer when I stayed at RPH and booked online, they did not take out the deposit amount from my credit card until the day I checked in. Does anyone know if they are still doing this??

I would like to book the RPH again, and wondered if the deposit would be taken out within a week or not until I arrived and checked in.

Thanks for any info :)

I booked HRH for 7/4 - 7/7 in mid January and they charged my card INSTANTLY.

Oh well.....Last year didn't until the week I arrived.

Reservation for 2/13 thru 2/16/05 made in October, 2004, was charged immediately to my credit card.

I agree - We've stayed at the Portofino Bay, HRH and Royal Pacific and the deposits have always been charged immediately.

I booked my reservation almost 2 weeks ago and they still haven't debited my account.?????..

I have had it both ways. A few times, they did not charge the deposit until our trip, and other times it has been charged when I bookedthe reservation. The best thing is to anticipate that it will be charged immediately, then be pleasantly surprised if it is not. Though, I must say, for the trips that it was not charged upon booking I did have some concerns about the reservation.

I wonder if there is a difference in procedure depending on what way you book. Booking between Loews's website, Universal's website and calling either of the different #'s.

BTW...never had my deposit charged to my CC before arriving no matter how far out I booked.

Last April I booked a res for HRH for the end of September. They never charged my credit card until I went to check in. I kept calling every month to confirm the res, and was told by the person that I spoke to that it's the accounting dept that charges the cards and if they're busy, they wait to charge the cards whose res are months away. I booked thru the 1-800-BE A STAR number.

I have never been charged when booking on the Loews hotels website - just still owed it when I arrived. But was charged immediately when booking thru 1-800-be a star. I do think it makes a difference how you book.

Same thing....Although it's only been a week or so, I called yesterday to confirm becuae they haven't charged me. :)

1/4/05, I made reservations by calling 1800beastar (I think) and my credit card was charged one nights stay. 1/11/05, I had found a better rate through orangevacations.com and called the above number again or called the RPR directly who matched that rate and charged my credit card one nights stay. So I now have two charges from RPR - one for $294.36 and one for $229.69. I don't care that they're both on there, but I'm calling this a.m. to make sure RPR shows I've got that much on my account!
