I really wanted to stay at POFQ. However, they will not let us stay there with four adults and a 4-yr-old. I am upset because she will end up in our bed no matter where she starts out. Anyway, I am now holding a room at PO-Riverside. It does not seem as this one is as well liked as French Quarter. Any opinions?

Also, someone told me I should just reserve the room with four adults with the dining package. Then pay separate tickets for my four-year-old and stay in POFQ. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Stephanie

If you try to take advantage of the extra magic hours at the parks you won't be able to for the 4 year old. Everyone in the party receives a resort card with their name on it.

POR is one of my favorite resorts on property. Lately my family and I have been doing the Deluxe thing, but I would not hesitate to stay at POR. In fact if the choice was between there and the Contemporary - not a choice at all. There's something quiet and relaxing about this resort. You get the Disney feel, while feeling someone secluded from the crowds. At least that's how it's been everytime we've stayed there - just super quiet. I love just walking around the little paths because the place, I think, is just beautiful.

While I did enjoy my stay more at POFQ, you will still be happy at POR. Both are very nice resorts. I found the food courts to be comparable at each, the only main difference is size as POR is MUCH larger than POFQ. If POR is the only choice you have in the matter....I wouldn't stress to much over it. :wave2:

I wouldn't agree that it is not as well liked as POFQ. There are a lot of great threads about POR. I stayed there and it was great. I think you will like it.

I personally would not recommend lieing to get around Disney policy. As I said, that's my personal belief.

Have a great time.

are you totally "married" to the idea of staying at a moderate resort? by the time you pay the extra adult fee (+$25/night/adult) it might be worth considering two rooms at a value (we LOVED pop!)... the extra bathroom and tv comes in mighty handy, but you give up the free fridge and pool slide...

a dilemma for sure!

Because it's moderate, I think the charge for an extra adult (more than 2 adult in a room is an extra charge) is $15 X 2 since there's 4 adults. So that would be $30 more per night. How many nights will you there?

The only option if you really want to stay in the moderate is the POR, but you still have to pay $30 more per night.

The other alternative would be getting two rooms at the value resort (I prefer POP). You get 2 TVs and 2 bathrooms and 4 double beds and more space!

I should be able to better answer this question in a few weeks. We stayed at POFQ a few years ago and loved it. We made reservations to stay at POR this time, mainly because we haven't stayed there before and we'd like to try it. I'd also like to have a trundle bed so DS-5 can have his own bed.

I think I read on allearsnet that their readers voted POR as their favorite moderate.

It is only $15 extra for every extra adult more than two in a room in a moderate. It is $25 extra at deluxe resorts.

I don't think it would be worth it to try to squeeze the extra person into the room under Disney's radar.
A. You would have to make some creative comprimises to not get caught.
and
B. It would suck if you got caught.
Plus, I'm pretty sure the security guard CM counts and gets the name of everyone in the car when you come through the gate before check in.

Thanks for all the help. I never considered getting two rooms at a value resort. My husband thinks that we, in no way, need two rooms. I am fine going to POR. Thanks for all of the opinions. They were very helpful.

I think POR is prettier and more diverse than POFQ. I think POFQ appeals to people who like everything in close proximity. The newly reburbished rooms do look nice. POR is much more spread out. It seems like a lot of people don't like this. People feel like they walk a lot in the parks, they don't want to walk a lot at their resort.

POFQ - AB is the only moderate or value resort that allows 5 people in a room. You are pretty much stuck unless you get 2 rooms or reserve a room at one of the more expensive deluxe resorts. You are close enough to POFQ that you can walk or take a boat ride down there. Don't forget to take the boat to DTD. That is fun.

Have fun!
