Hotel close to Disney with amazing pools/waterslides?

I've stayed at Coco Key and it was fine. My friend and I took our kids there spring break 2 yrs ago. Our room was clean and new. We had a maintenance issue and they arrived within 5 minutes of me calling to report the problem. They fixed it and cleaned up the mess immediately. My friend and I both agreed that while there were no real complaints or problems it was only worth the price we paid which was $70/night. The waterpark is really only good for young kids. I think age 8 would be about the limit...older kids would be bored.

After staying 5 nights at Coco we moved to the Hilton Bonnet Creek and we all agreed, even her 5yo, that it was much better. We all enjoyed the lazy river and water slide. Our room was beautiful and it felt more like a vacation rather just a place to stay.

If proximity to WDW is important I would not consider Coco Key. It is 20-30 minutes away depending on traffic. Also, that part of I-drive is a nightmare.

We stay at the Fantasy World Resort, it is a couple of miles form DTD on 192 right where it begins. They have 2 great slides (might be too much for young kids) but also have a fantastic lazy river and an adjacent surfing machine. The pool bar is also fantastic with great happy hour. It is a condo resort with 2 BR, 2 bath with W/D. I usually pay about $100 but popularity seems to be increasing so paid more this year! Great place!

Funny enough, my parents own there, and we've been many times! Its a great resort:)
We were thinking of trying something different this time around...

Thanks for your help:thumbsup2

Thank-you!

I did look into this one (Hilton Bonnet Creek) and its on my list!

I'm still struggling whether to stay on property or not the 1st 2 nights of our trip. We check into AKL on the 14th.

Decisions...decisions....

I'm anxious to see the new pool at the Marriott Orlando World center (we may stay at Sabal Palms over spring break, got an owner's discount booked for now). But, for younger kids, I would look into Marriott's Harbour Lake - they have a great water play area for young kids! Plus, it's gated and safe feeling, and a small resort so it's easy to get around (I love it there, our rooms were always super clean and nice and quiet). Plus, if you get a one bedroom or larger, you'd have your own washer/dryer, so you can do any laundry before you leave. They have pizza delivery from Cypress Harbor across the street, and sandwiches also down at the bar area.

I'm sure there are many other options too; good luck, and happy planning!

I actually have Marriott Harbour Lake booked for 5 nights in a 1 bedroom, and Beach Club (on Disney property) booked for the same days, but I am torn once again on what resort to pick. The 1 bedroom would be awesome with a separate bedroom, washer dryer, but I am not sure whether on property or off is the way to go...:confused3

I have a 6 yr old..is there lots to do for him as well as my 3 yr old

There is a great slide and a large zero entry pool at the Hilton parc Soleil. Check it out:

This one looked great, and I checked into it, but they are sold out for the nights I was looking for.

Thanks so much for your help:thumbsup2

I think so - last time we stayed there my kids were 12 and 14 I think. They both loved the resort!

Personally, now that my kids are older, and I've stayed in condos, I'd rather have a kitchen and washer/dryer than share a room with them. Still, the Beach Club is a great location. Harbour Lake is super close to Sea World (that's what we did as well as Discovery Cove last trip - Sea World was not our favorite thing but we loved DC and also spent a couple of afternoons at Wonderworks, which the kids loved). It's not a bad drive over to Disney at all either.

I need a great hotel for my first 2 nights before staying at AKL. Can anyone recommend a great hotel close to Disney that has amazing amenities..ie: pools, waterslides etc? I have a 3 and 6 year old that are pool crazy!

Cleanliness is a MUST!!

Thanks! :)

You didn't mention cost :-) if that's not an issue, you might consider the Moderates.

I've never stayed at Coronado Springs, but we loved the movie the Road to El Dorado and I always imagined watching that movie just before a trip to stay at that resort.

DD when she was 8 loved the pool at POFQ, AND she also loved and loves the clown pool (yes really, none of us have clown phobias) at BWV. It's a fun slide.

AOA has cool pools too.

Throwing these ideas out there, b/c I saw the US resort mentioned and the prices there are comprable.

I was checking rates for a spring trip. One of the options says "includes surf tickets". Do youpay extra for the slides and lazy river?

You do not pay anything extra except a nominal resort fee but they have free internet, weight room, etc. I can't say enough good things about this place!
