Does anyone have any good/bad experiences of the Cheyenne and is it worth asking if theyres any free upgrades or discounts avalible?

The Cheyenne is a great hotel. But as there are no special rooms (like Montana rooms or lake view rooms at other hotels) you can't get an upgrade at this hotel. And for discounts; if you are a shareholder you can get a 10% discount on your booking!

Ive heard stories of people getting moved into better hotels and stuff like that so just wondering.

I think that was when Disney overbooked their hotel. But cross your fingers, you may be lucky! :goodvibes

Hi

I've had a phone call today to say we've been chosen at random to be upgraded to the Newport Bay from the Cheyenne.

We booked the Cheyenne, not just because of value for money, but also because I'd read that it was a good hotel.

Is this a good idea? I know the Newport is 3 star and Cheyenne is 2, so I presume so.

If you don't want the upgrade then I'll take it :hyper:

When are you going and who did you book with please? I was hoping for an upgrade but we booked with Disney Direct through First Choice (who haven't been impressive with our tickets - we still don't have them and we leave on 9th March!). I was hoping for a call like you've had but don't hold out much hope now.

Have you phoned about your tickets. Sometimes they have them however have not got around to letting you know. If they have not got them you can then push them chasing them up.

Yes, I phoned First Choice last Friday and was told the tickets were on the way to a branch closer to us (as requested by me), the other branch hadn't received them and when they checked into it the tickets hadn't been dispatched from the booking branch! A lady called Kimberley assured me that she expected them by Tuesday and she promised me she would go through them with me, etc. I called in at the branch yesterday and, not only had they not received our tickets from the other branch, but 'Kimberley' conveniently had a day off!!!! The other members of staff claimed not to know what had been said to me of course

Since I have no intentions of going over there again before Saturday it looks like I'll have to order Euros without being in receipt of tickets - I just don't feel like I am going until I have those in my possession

I usually do all my holiday booking over the Internet, now I know why!

Hi there!

No, I think I'll keep the upgrade! I know I shouldn't sound disappointed, but we'd set our hearts on being cowboys for 4 days! I'm sure the Newport will be better and it's much nearer to the actual attractions (I've read some reviews which are all good).

We booked independently (!!!) Ohhh my God!!! Hope it all goes well!...... We booked really cheap flights from Coventry airport (our local) for £4.49 each way (each) and a 3 nights for the price of 2 break for 2 adults and 2 kids for £314 including insurance. We will get the disney shuttle from Orly airport to Disney on our way there, but coming home we leave so early that we've had to book a private shuttle minibus thing for 100 euros. It soon adds up, but I know we've done it in a fairly inexpensive way.

You only live once and I reckon we'll only go to DLP once too, so the credit card will take a hammering -we will enjoy everything we can afford. Sod it!!

Have a great one and I hope you get your upgrade (I reckon they'd ring your agent rather than you, if you've booked through a travel co.).

Jane :cheer2: :cool1: :moped:

Jane - the Newport is a very nice hotel and you can always go and visit the Cheyenne for a little cowboy role play!! Fantastic flight prices you got there, and I'm sure it will all go fine. :thumbsup2 Out of interest, which private shuttle company did you choose?

Annette - The Cheyenne is also a very nice hotel!! ::yes:: ;)

Don't speak too soon! Last year was our 'once only' visit to DLRP - and in 12 days we are off for a second time (and already thinking of next year!). Thanks to Tesco vouchers we are managing to save enough to go to our new addiction:)

Have a great trip:)

That's what worries me, I don't have much faith left in First Choice any more and suspect that even if they did receive a call, then we'd never get to hear of it! :rolleyes1

You never said when you are actually going Jane?

Our "Once in a Lifetime" was March 2004 :lmao:

Got my first set of Tesco vouchers stashed away, great idea, wish I'd thought of it before - I really want to go at halloween 2007 and these are going to help break it gently to the rest of the family that (well DH anyway) :thumbsup2

BTW The Cheyenne is a lovely hotel I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, it's hard to imagine from the brochures what it's like, but the design is awesome, you do feel like you're walking through a Wild West town.
Only criticism would be the wooden bed legs - you do not want to stub your toe on them - ouch!!!

Having stayed at the Sequoia and the Cheyenne I'd personally turn down an upgrade offer and will do if I ever we get one while planning to stay at the Cheyenne. I much prefer the bar, theming and general feel of the Cheyenne.

Sorry! We are going 6th-90th March. We are so excited. If I was you, I'd ring First Choice and ask them if they've had a call regarding an upgrade. It might be worth a try - just tell them that you've heard through a website forum that upgrades are being given away. Happy trip anyway. :cool1: :cool1: Jane x

Annette

After getting loads of quotes, we finally chose SHUTTAIR as they were very quick to respond to my questions, helpful and also 20 euros cheaper than most other quotes. I just felt comfortable with them and happy with the price. I emailed them yesterday to tell them about the upgrade and that we needed to be collected from a different hotel and he answered straight away to confirm the change - can't ask for more than that really!! I'll let you know how we get on! It's costing 100 euros from Disney to Orly airport (bearing in mind they class 6.45am (!!!) as a night pick up - day collections are 78 euros - cheaper than any other I found).

Have a good one

Jane x :cheer2: :woohoo:

No problem!!! :teeth:

Look forward to hearing about your experience with Shuttair, though it sounds good so far. It will be good to get some real life feedback on some of these shuttle companies!
