We are taking the red eye out of San Diego. We arrive in Orlando at 8:00am...By the time we get to our hotel (disney's beach club resort) I'm guessing it will probably be around 9:30 or 10:00am. It says on our docs that check in is at 3:00. Realistically, is there a chance we could check in earlier than that? We would like to try and do a park that day, but I know I won't be relaxed enough to enjoy the parks, until I know my luggage is in the room and we are all settled.
What do those of you do that first day? Do you just hang by the pool? Do a park in the late afternoon? We will probably be a bit tired after a night of little sleep, but I'm sure that will not bother my energetic 5 year old. She is like the energizer bunny!

Most hotels have a storage room where they'll secure your luggage if your room is not yet ready. I'd probably relax by the pool for a little while (snoozing in the shade since I'd be a bit tired), go to the parks for about 2-3 hours after lunch, come back and get settled into the room, have a quick supper and then head back to the parks until closing time.

DCL is handling our luggage...so we just wait until it's delivered to our room, right? We just get to Orlando, get on the shuttle and go to the hotel...correct?

I haven't done the Land/Sea, but that sounds about right. BTW, since you're staying at the Beach Club, keep in mind that you're within walking distance of Epcot and a short boat launch away from MGM.

When we did the L/S & they picked us up at the airport we waited for our luggage to be put on the bus & then they dropped us at our resort (along with others that went to different resorts).
We had them keep our luggage in storage & then they put it into our room & it was there after we got back from the parks. We headed there as quickly as we could upon arriving. Dave had a good point about your location. We stayed at the BC last time {btw it is a BEAUTIFUL resort & you will love it} & it was a nice walk to EPCOT for you to begin your day - or end there.

Now when we go, we go the day before & stay at one of the All Stars Value Resorts for one night & just lay around the pool & then go to DTD to eat, get up early the next am & start our L/S package. Since your air is already scheduled & your tickets must begin that day, I'd say if you can, take advantage of what you're already paying for & head right for the parks.
