Hotel between Ocala and WDW

I am looking for a hotel between Ocala and WDW that may have a fair amount of restaurants close by. Any suggestions.

why - you are little more than an hour away (Ocala) from WDW/Kissimmee.

where there is a ton of stuff.

there is Wildwood.

Thanks. I am flying in and meeting some family friends before we head to WDW. Wanted to see if there was somewhere to stay between Ocala and WDW before we check in to our WDW resort the next day.

unless you are coming on peak or holiday season - stop at the rest stop and get the stuff on florida hotels.

there will generally be several ads for Kissimmee and Ocala area.

I would probably try to find something in Ocala or Kissimmee (better chance of finding something reasonable).

you didn't ask for this - but since you are from Birmingham

when you get to Montgomery take I85 exit 9 to US 231 (turn right when you get off the I85 - the road deadends at US 231) - they have finally changed the signs.

also once you are on the new Florida turnpike - take the new 429

'Travel on Florida Turnpike to Exit 267A (429S) (approximately 42 miles)

Travel on 429S to Exit 8 (Disney World/Hartzog Rd) (approximately 14 miles)'

the toll for the turnpike is $2.50, the toll for 429 is $1.00

it will let you out between All star and CSR - so turn left to get to other WDW hotels - turn right to get to All star resort and the short cut to sherbert road to the Kissimmee area.

I think you find this route very short! I did!!!

How long did it take you?

well you can do most of it at 70 to 75 mph so less than an hour - might have been 45 minutes?

not until you turn off on Western Way to get to Disney that you need to go less.

at night you can see the fireworks from the MK (I think) driving on this toll road.
