I am hoping you can give me your input. We are sailing on the October 16th cruise. We will be driving from Texas. I was wondering if to get a room the night before sailing (in Port Canaveral) must reservations be made in advance? Or will we be able to find a accomadations on Friday night for our Saturday sailing? I am planning on taking 2 days to get there and just don't know where we will stop on thursday night so I dont want to commit for Friday. After traveling with the family I may decide to stop in Orlando and finish up the drive on saturday morning.

Thanks for the input.:earsgirl:

Some of the hotels near the port are closed right now due to damage suffered during Hurricane Frances. The hotels that are open are rather full due to FEMA workers and other storm-related contractors filling the rooms. So a reservation would be in order.

As for stopping on the way, assuming you're coming east on I-10, I suggest staying on I-10 to Jax and then taking I-95 south. Stop for the night either in St. Augustine or Daytona Beach. You'll only have a little way to drive then on the morning of your cruise.
